Excellent food, beautiful room, inconsistent service that is friendly but has an air of kids working a second job that are just a little off.

This place was not packed which I loved since I do not like to feel like sardine. They had a variety of small plates that were quite delicious. The views of their surroundings are quite majestic at night as you are among the buildings in the area. They even have an outside area deck to enjoy the views.

C-House advertised that they were serving BOGO hot chocolates for kids and adults after the Fesitval of Lights on Michigan Ave. Here is exactly what it said: "November 17, 2012 Buy one, Get one Hot Chocolate Warm up on the day of the Lights Festival and enjoy a hot chocolate on us! Buy one, get one hot chocolate at C-House or C-View. Boozy and Kids alcohol-free versions available. Here is the link to this promotion if you want to verify my accuracy:

http://www.themagnificentmile.com/events/lights-festival/holiday-offers/

So we arrived with 7 adults and 7 behaved children. We have stayed at this hotel (under a different name and management) on 3 occaisions in the past.

We were promptly told that the promotoin was ONLY running at C-House not C-View with the beautiful city view that our group hoped to enjoy. We made no protest and rode the elevator back down to the ground floor and into C-House. As I approached the hostess stand she turned and walked away with no greeting. When she returned, I said our group was there for the BOGO hot chocolate promotion and she waived her hand towards the bar and said sit anywhere - - -and walked away again!!!! We asked a more helpful person if our group could sit at the long table just adjacent to the bar. No problem. We got seated and several waitstaff walked by us but nobody would take our order. Finally we asked the bartender to take our order. He also said no, but flagged a waiter and sent him over. This waiter could not have been less communicative with the group. No greeting, no eye contact - - nothing. His only statement was that the hot chocolates were made by hand and this was going to take a very long time. He was soooooooooo right. When they did arrive he simply set them down in the middle of the table and walked away. Nobody ever came by to ask if we needed anything. It was truely the rudest waitstaff I have ever come upon in Chicago. If you advertise something like this - - -PLEASE BE PREPARED, POLITE AND READY TO SERVE CUSTOMERS who respond to your ads, OK?

This was just an awful cap on a fun festival. The staff in C-View and C-House is terrible. They just didn't want us there.

We stayed at MileNorth Hotel October 10-13 and ate lunch here on the day of our departure. Were we surprised! The special was soup of the day or salad, sandwhich and a mini dessert for 15. The soup was pumpkin. We've eaten a lot of mediocre pumpkin soup. This was outstanding! Expertly spiced and delcious. My wife had a BLT and I had a burger. This was the best burger I've had in a while- excellent tasty beef, pretzel roll, just outstanding. Home made french fries were very good. Mini cupcakes were average. Overall an excellent meal.
