Stayed here in Jan. and was very disappointed in my room. Very small room about 200 square feet and it makes you feel like you are in a closet. The tiny bathroom was about 6 feet by 6 feet you had to maneuver around the door to get in and bend over the toilet to turn the shower on and this was after I had asked to switch rooms. I especially hated the TV and old 24 inch Phillips tube TV similar to what I had in my dorm room 20 years ago. There are much better chooses for the same price in Chicago (Ritz, W) but do visit the lobby it is stunning it just ends there. Also the train runs until late at night so do not expect a nice quiet experience. I was really surprised by all the positive reviews I guess if you are staying it is imperative you pay for an upgrade.

A quick two night business trip in Chicago. This was my first stay at the Palmer House and one of the nicest Hilton properties I've stayed in. Quick check-in with no one in the Hhonors line. Was recognized as a Hhonors Diamond before check-in and upgraded to a room on the executive floor with two double beds and two bathrooms. The room was very nice and I liked the period decor the second bathroom was great for travelling with colleagues. There was a small walk-in closet of both sides of the room.

The executive lounge was located one floor above mine, a quick walk, or there was reserved elevators that only served the executive floor and needed key card access. It was one of the largest executive lounges I'd seen, staff was polite and attentive to our needs. I know the lounge is advertised as 'continental breakfast' but this was still one of the few lounges I've seen that didn't have some sort of scrambled eggs or bacon for breakfast. On the 22nd floor we could just barely hear the elevated train go by, I'd be worried about a room a little lower down as the train runs down the street at the height of the 3rd/4th floors. But on our floor the noise wasn't an issue at all.

The hotel was centrally located with several restaurants in the area. The front desk was quick to point out local places to eat.

I didn't have time to experience the on site restaurants, or fitness area. The lobby area bar was always quite busy and we ran into a few people that came there for drinks but weren't staying at the hotel.

I'd have no objections to staying at The Palmer House again and would even consider going out of my way to do so while in Chicago.

This is a wonderful hotel with great service and wonderful room accomodations. The relaxing atmosphere in the dinning and lounging areas are top notch. The area around the hotel has great restuarants, shopping, sight seeing and museums all within walking distance.

I would stay at the Palmer House Hilton again. The room we were upgraded to had 2 double beds and 2 full bathrooms. The room decor was a bit outdated and the tv wasn't a flat screen in HD, but we didn't come to Chicago to stay in the room. The location of the hotel is just one block from Lake Shore Drive--the Chicago Art Institute, and Milinium Park. There is a Starbucks inside the hotel itself and an EL stop right out the front door. Also a CVS across the street and Millers Pub right next door. Locations was everything. The lobby is breathtaking, but drinks were very expensive--but worth it.

Ornate ceilings in the Lobby are stunning. Our room was large and clean with his and her bathrooms. We were convenient to the theatre district, great restaurants, and shopping. We were on one of the two conciere levels and enjoyed morning breakfast, afternoon snacks, and a private bank of elevators. Would stay here again.

My husband and I attended a wedding at the Palmer House and stayed at the Palmer House for 3 days, 2 nights. We found all employees helpful and friendly. I had to call on Security two times to help me. Once they helped get him to his feet after he had fallen. Later they delivered first aid supplies for his arm. The Security personnel were courteous, helpful and very professional. The three rooms we used for the wedding activities were lovely. The food and service were excellent. One could do no better for superior service than the Palmer House.
