“Great stay!”

This hotel is amazing. Very conveniently located and such a good price. Alhaji at the check-in desk was awesome - very helpful and pleasant! The hotel is close to everything you need. Only complaint would be the pressure of the shower head.

I stayed here for a work conference and was mostly delighted with the location. The hotel sub-level /street exit had several food options, including a Starbucks and a Merz Apothecary store, which were also nice to have on-site. The concierge desk was a hit or miss depending on who you got at the desk. With so many other online tools though you could easily find your way around the city. The only thing I would have liked is a bigger room. They DO run small here and because the hotel is old they are not very modern. I would have preferred a bigger set up and heavier comforter, but the room did its job. Staff, however, did what they could and because I had a room share they brought up extra soaps on request. Overall, everyone was friendly. The spa on-site was also fun, but not worth full-price. I found a deal on YELP which made a huge difference. I recommend you check for deals, too.

We booked this hotel at the last minute on the night before we were due to arrive in Chicago. We paid a bit more than we planned but all in all for the area it was within reason. Beautiful lobby and from what we could tell the rooms were pretty sound proof. We only knew others were there when we met in the halls. There are many restaurants within walking distance of the hotel and several sites of interest. I did not go down to breakfast because we received four vouchers in our package deal and there were five of us. We knew the number of vouchers in advance so it wasn't a big deal. Roommates stated it was a buffet but they really didn't say much else about it. The room was huge and nice. We had two bathrooms! They were a bit small but no complaint here because with five to the room it was great to have two!

We were staying there along w hundreds of other families for a large aau basketball tourney. Service was excellent. Room was phenomenal. Great water pressure in shower. Great location during chicago fest. Only drawback was that elevators to top floors were very slow. A minor inconvenience. Will definitely go back

Being a Hilton Honor members doesn't bring much benefits anymore: we arrived at the Palmer House hotel on a Saturday morning ahead of the check in time to be told that we could have a room for a $25 surcharge and still have to switch rooms before the 3 pm cutoff time. The hotel room, being in a historical hotel, was very small with an outdated bathroom to say the least and the overall comfort was moderate at best. However the hotel is very well located just a few blocks from the Millennium park and in the business downtown area of the city.
The food at the restaurant was top notch despite the crowd hanging out in the lobby area due to its free wifi there vs a steep fee if you get it in your bedroom.
The next morning, we got our invoice under the door showing a valet parking fee while we came in by train! A pretty sad customer experience again... We moved to the Marriott on Michigan Avenue, the next day, for the same nightly cost and were so much happier there with service in par with our expectation of a 4 star+ hotel.
This is not your average Hilton experience and we will not return to this location anytime in the future.

Room Tip: Check the Omni or the Marriott for better customer experience and service

Dear valued customer,

Im happy to hear that you found the hotel to be in a good location for your needs. I wish that your stay was perfect from start to finish but it seems that we did not reach your expectations for your entire stay. Human or computer errors may happened and I know that it is an inconvenience to correct but I hope that it was an easy fix. We value your view of our property and we will use your comments to get better.

Thank you.

My wife and myself had the chance to stay here while attending our younger son's wedding. Gorgeous lobby and fast elevators with quick, unobtrusive room service. Great central location to many restaurants, public transportation, museums (Art Institute just two blocks away) and the Magnificent Mile (Michigan Avenue). Room and decor was just fine. Take time to look at the photos of previous entertainers on the walls - evokes good memories.

Palmer house was very convenient for Rock n Roll 1/2 Marathon start and finish. I was stunned by the lobby area. So beautiful! Bathroom was small, but who spends much time in the bathroom. Hotel was close to train, Michigan Ave, and lake front. Plenty of restaurants close and many stores nearby. I couldn't have asked for a better place. My checkout was made to late checkout because of the race. Very accommodating to get a shower after. Thanks for a Great stay! Will be back for sure!
