“Wonderful anniversary!”
Reviewed May 12, 2013

My husband surprised me with a trip to Chicago. We flew in last night and checked in to our king suite at the Omni where champagne on ice and chocolate truffles awaited us. The room is spacious with a beautiful city view and within walking distance of tons of shops and restaurants. We are on the 16th floor and it is quiet and the room is spacious and bed super-comfortable. So far - WONDERFUL!

Room Tip: Prior to our arrival my husband joined the Rewards program so we have free wifi, complimentary coffe...

I have stayed at this hotel several times in the past and again this past weekend. I was reminded at how convenient this hotel is to everything on Michigan Ave. I had a car rental this weekend since I needed to be in several places out of the Loop and it is so easy getting on and off Lake Shore Drive and then to points north and south. The rooms are very comfortable and like all Omni hotels, the staff is always helpful and friendly. This hotel has become the hotel of choice for me when visiting Chicago.

We brought our two children here on their first trip to Chicago in April. We chose the Omni because of the American Girl package for our daughter and thought the location was good. The rooms were a nice size and it was lovely to have the bedroom and living space separate. All the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.

The kids liked the pool although it was rather small. Luckily we arrived shortly after spring break was over for most other people, so it wasn't too crowded.

Only odd thing about the room was that everything was oriented for 3 people rather than 4. We treated ourselves with room service once, and although we ordered 4 meals we only got 3 waters...also, only sofa and one chair to sit on, so I ended up eating my lovely breakfast while sitting on the floor. Oh well!

We're sorry that your room service order only came with three waters instead of four. And while our rooms with two beds have a sofa with one chair, we can't have more furniture in the room due to space. We do have executive suites that have more seating area than our standard suites if you would like more room to spread out. We're glad our staff made you feel at home, and we hope your daughter enjoyed the American Girl package.

Check in was easy. Bell hops moved our luggage out of our vehicle quickly and even took our trash from the ride there. Rececption was friendly and informative as well as quick. Room was ready and very nice. Once we got to our room we called down for a cot for our 5 year old and it was delivered within 10 minutes. They had cookies and milk for my boys on the counter for a snack with was very nice. Location was great and could walk to many shops and a couple blocks from the Red Line subway. We went to the Cubs vs Reds game which is why we were in Chicago. We went ot the Willis tower, which my kids loved and took a taxi there which the Omni Bell Hops got for us. We sent a text to have our vehicle brought from the valet service, but they didn't get it. We only waited 15 minutes and we were on our way. Our luggage almost got sent up to another room, but we caught it before it was delivered to the wrong room. This happened just before we got ready to leave, but no big deal. We'd stay here again because of the location, rooms and customer service. I would recommend this to my clients any day!

Room Tip: We stayed in a King corner room on the 16th floor and didn't hear much traffic.

Hotel - all the rooms are 2-room suites, beautifully furnished with high-quality details. The beds are comfortable with top quality linens and the bathrooms are large, brightly lit, with firm water pressure in the shower.
You enter from the street into a well staffed but simple "bell lobby" where you take an elevator to the 3d floor main lobby. The second bank of three elevators that you take to your suite were quick and always available so that our total time from street to guest room was actually quicker than most large hotels. The staff are friendly, attentive, and efficient.
Location- the corner of Huron and Michigan is center of the Magnificent Mile. The best dining, shopping, and sight-seeing is all within a short walk.
Discount Rates - Check out the "Hotel Special Offers" on their website for the best prices. We got a Suite for $189/night when the best rates at any other 4+-Star hotel on Mich. Ave. was $250 or higher. I also you join their "Select Guest" loyalty program before you book your room. It is free and you get free WIFI & room service beverage each morning, better rooms, later checkout times, and reward points.

Room Tip: Join their "Select Guest" loyalty program and check in as early as you can to get the best...

We've stayed in Chicago several times but on this occasion, we were taking our two young daughters for a first-time trip! The Omni was the PERFECT hotel! The location right on Michigan Avenue was central to everything we had planned (American Girl Store, carriage rides, dining and Garretts Popcorn!)
The hotel offers suites that are a great bonus when traveling as a family, at a really reasonable price. Upon arriving, the hotel staff greeted the kids, gave them Omni backpacks filled with candy, toys and activities and later on, brought organic milk and cookies to the room for the girls. WOW! The hotel accommodations were very nice, as well as the added bonus of the indoor pool (again, right on Michigan Ave!). Finally, the restaurant 676, was a great place for a delicious and nutritious breakfast before beginning our day.
The only complaint was that our room was overlooking Michigan Ave, and while the view was great, the constant fire sirens all night long, made for a noisy night's sleep. However, that comes with city life and if you don't have a room right on Michigan Avenue, you wouldn't hear anything!
Regardless, the hotel is just perfect and we know that we will be back again!

Room Tip: If you want a quiet room, request it off of Michigan Avenue.

I had the opportunity to stay at the downtown Chicago Omni. The staff was friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. My only comment is that several mornings the coffee cart in the lobby didn't open until close to 7:30 am. Way too late for a coffee cart to open. The television info said it should be opened by 6:30 am.
