“Amanda at the desk is wonderful.”
Reviewed October 7, 2013 via mobile

The location is really, really close to the red train. The rooms were okay. And clean. The front desk were very good. Weber grill had a good dinner. The Purple Pig was great and a good laugh. Most of all the transit was entertaining:)

Really have no complaints with this hotel; however, with the amount of hotel competition in downtown Chicago, I feel that my expectations were just met (not exceeded) during my recent 3 night stay. My southwest corner room was very standard in design; rectangular room with two queen beds. Thank goodness for a nice comfortable chair and ottoman for reading and watching TV. Bed mattress was comfortable, as was climate control. Room lighting was good. Good placement of outlets for phone and tablet charging. Nice having a small refrigerator in the room. The bathroom seemed old in design (e.g., tub, shower curtain, vanity, faucet design); however, toilet appeared upgraded. Being in the city, you may hear noise from the streets below. Get a room as high as possible. The Weber Grill Restaurant is is on the first floor and is very convenient for meals (including breakfast!) and a nightcap. Catty-corner to the southwest is the Rock Bottom Brewery. Michigan Avenue is a very short walk to the east. A Jewel-Osco food store is located on State Street across from the hotel to the west. The underground entrance to the CTA Red Line is located on State across from the hotel. The train to the airport (Blue Line) is located a short walk away at the corner of Lake and State. Both valet and self-parking are available and expensive. Self-park is $42/day; valet is $61/day. The design of the car drop-off/pick-up area at the hotel entrance is frustrating. More than once my car obtained by the valet was parked behind cars checking in. Very frustrating if one is in a hurry. All staff members that I met were professional and pleasant. While I consider my experience to have met expectations (Average), I would consider staying here again if the price was right.

Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback regarding our hotel. The hotel will be undergoing a multi million dollar renovation as the end of this year which will address some of the items you mentioned that needed an upgrade. Our parking entrance is something we are always looking to make more efficient so I will be certain to share your comments with our parking company. Again, thank you for your comments and we hope to have the opportunity to serve you again in the near future.

I slept well and comfortably. It is just a few blocks (maybe two) from the Magnificent Mile. Self park is easy, around the corner, same block and you will save a few bucks. There is a small Starbucks in the lobby. Weber Grill restaurant is in the same building.

My husband and I stayed for two days in Chicago and wanted to be able to park the car and head out on foot. The Hilton Garden Inn was just perfect for this! It's walking distance to the Navy Pier, Michigan Ave for shopping and the trolley tour bus stops.

The front desk staff were outstanding! A young lady (Keisha) is a super star! The housekeeping staff did a great job! The hotel management were visible, walking around and interacting with customers. The room was great! I can not think of one negative thing to say about our stay! We would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Room Tip: Probably would want to ask for a higher floor to get a view if that's important to you.

If you like to walk downtown or take the Train anywhere (Metro entrance in front of the hotel), this is your hotel. Very close to dinning (regular or Fancy), breakfast and Pubs and 2 blocks from Magnificent Mile, is on the very Navy Pier Street also. The hotel has indoor heated pool.

I have an unforgettable stay in this hotel, could definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: THe bed was to soft for me, lay on it before before you unpack.

This is a nice clean hotel with clean rooms and comfortable beds. The location is great - very close to N. Michigan and all the stores and shops. State street is a good walk but not that far. Helpful, pleasant staff. I highly recommend this hotel.
