A small nature museum designed especially for kids, with some fun and classic hands-on exhibits like waterworks and a green house that kids can walk and crawl all over. The butterfly haven is really nice, really pretty and romantic. And the architecture of the building is great!

The cafe leaves a whole lot to be desired (just premade things you can take from a fridge), but if you're in the Lincoln Park area anyway, it's worth a stop by! And it's a beautiful place to have a wedding or another special event!

Do not miss the butterfly area, and special times when the museum releases newly emerged young. It’s quite warm, but the kids are enchanted -- as are we adults. While the water learning area is not always 100% working, and most of the kids -- young ones and the less academically inclined -- tend to just want to play in the water rather than learn (should an interested adult accompany them). At different times of day, staff members do a show and tell with, for instance, a near-albino king snake, talk about it and let the kids touch it. I liked this so well that my son gave us a Groupon family membership earlier this year.

Small and attractive with some static and interactive nature exhibits. The butterfly room is nice. Most interesting for 5 to 12-year-olds.

The musuem has the most fantastic butterfly garden. We could sit in there for hours. The waterways exhibit is also very interesting It is a bit pricey but the butterfly section makes it worth the money.
