I must say it is a great library although I had not been there many times. Several art exhibits were good to attend. One I found surprising was of Tunis Ponzen some years ago. He was not a well know Chicago artist, however, his family had much of his work and after his death they library honored him with an exhibit of his work.

The people are helpful and the data is right at your finger tips. Knowledge is power and this place is a power house.

I liked the exhibit of the old Chicago theatres. Probably my only complaint is it's a little difficult to locate what is where. They will give you a brochure and what I did see I really liked.

The library is a fantastic building on the outside. Inside it is a bit dark but has an excellent collection art pieces by local artists lining the escalators and passageways. It is possible to study a language here: the staff is very helpful. And there are books!

We learned about the HWLC during an architectural tour of the area. Decided to visit and were in for a treat:superb artwork and exhibit on "Upstanders" by a history foundation.
