Owner description: Soaring 1,000 feet over Michigan Avenue, 360 CHICAGO is one of the city’s most unique attractions. Located on the 94th floor of the John Hancock Center, 360 CHICAGO (formerly John Hancock Observatory) offers breathtaking views of Chicago’s skyline, the lakefront and four neighboring states. It’s also the only place you can enjoy TILT – Chicago’s highest thrill ride. This one-of-a-kind marvel tilts guests off the side of the building and provides the most thrilling views of Chicago. Come to 360 Chicago for the best views all around.

Enjoy the same spectacular view as the observatory but over cocktails and snacks without the fee to go up the lifts.

If you are planning to go to the John Hancock and if you don't have kids with you, then avoid the observatory and go to the bar at the 95th. The entrance is at floor level at the right side of the street. Take the elevator to the bar instead of the restaurant is always people at the lobby that can help you. Drinks are around $16 but they are very good.

I really enjoyed the Hancock Center. The view was amazing. I like that it is enclosed not like the Empire State Building in NYC. There is plenty of room to move around - you can have a sandwich or cocktail while you are there. It was very enjoyable - worth the money.

If you do one thing in Chicago, go to the lounge on the 96th floor to have a drink. Gorgeous views of the entire city in a great atmosphere.

A must for every Chicago visitor is to see the view from John Hancock Center. Instead of the Observatory you can visit the lounge which ( I believe) is one floor down where you can sit and have a drink while enjoying the view. If you want to go in the evening to see the sunset and lights be aware that a line starts very early at the elevator to go up and they limit the number of people traveling up and down so you may have to wait. There is also a fireworks display in the summer over the lake that is cool to see from the top but again it is very popular so go early. Also you will need to check on days and times that the fireworks display is happening.
