This area has lots of shops, some new, some old. There is a nice Macy's and also a nice Nordstrom on opposite ends of the mile, with all kinds of shops in between!! Inside of Macy's as well as Nordstrom there are several levels (floors) of shops in both of these. On the bottom floor as you enter Macy's there is a Lush Store! GO see it! Its a MUST! Get a bath bomb (yes I said bomb)!! I know it sounds funny, take it back to your hotel room and your room will smell awesome the rest of the time you are in your hotel!! Not to mention your skin will feel pretty awesome (after your bath) as well! The river is not far from the shops. Its a must see at least once in your life. Have fun, this is an easy 3 to 4 day trip if you just want to shop and maybe see a few sights in town, stay somewhere downtown so you can just walk everywhere!

The "Magnificent Mile" is a fun stroll for shopping or looking at architecture. With the park and lake on one side and Chicago's iconic skyline on the other, you can't do much better than walking this street. Also cruise or walk along (or at least across) the river too to see some of the city's other famous buildings.

Nice place to take a walk and do some shopping. In Michigan avenue you can find the most interesting shops like Ralph Lauren and Victoria's secret. From here you can go also to Jonh Hancock Centre. Not so nice when it rains, impossible to shopping (this is what happened to me).

All the major retail establishments are in this area. During the Holiday season it is beautifully decorated and lit up. You don't have to go far to find a great restaurant either. I found it to be very tourist-friendly and safe to walk after dark. Bundle up if you visit anytime after October because the wind makes it feel even colder than it is.
