Awesome creativity. Chef owner is passionate. Easy to reach from downtown. If you like Mexican food and are looking for the higher end treatment, this is it.

This was my first visit to Mexique, and I will definitely go back. The unique flavors that have been combined to create the dishes are a definite plus. While they have a small menu, the flavor profiles created in the Conchinita Pibil were excellent. It is a small place, and the brunch menu looks like a great different option to the typical Sunday morning experience.

An interesting fusion of flavors and techniques- Mexican and French. It all works. The lamb entree was fabulous. Can't wait to go back & try some other dishes. The service was good as well.

We dined here with family recently. The menu is kind of limited and unique for the sake of being unique. The asada was a flank steak and this is really only best used for something like fajitas. It was too tough and stringy. The pollo a la pancha was better and had hints of what Chef Gaytan is trying to accomplish.

Overall, for the price (3 appetizers, 3 entrees, 2 desserts and 5 glasses of wine spread throughout 8 people) it was not worth it.

If you like Mexican fine dining and don't want to pay the prices at the most famous Chicago fine dining restaurant downtown, try Mexique. We enjoyed our meal there a lot. The service was great and the prices were very reasonable. We would definitely go there again.
