“Very disappointing”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2012

The most positive point about this hotel is that the rooms are spacious and reasonably well equipped. On the other hand the hotel itself is isolated. There is practically nothing to do in the immediate neighborhood except perhaps walking to the southern end of China town which apparently is neither very attractive nor very safe. The restaurant and deli shop attached to the hotel are of very low quality. The (not so cheap) breakfast is lamentable. The staff is indifferent.

I was very pleased with this hotel, especially at the price (plus free parking!). The room was great; it was spacious, quiet, clean, and comfortable. The hotel is south of the loop near Chinatown, but near the bus line and only a couple blocks from the L so it's easy to get anywhere. Overall, I felt the hotel provided a luxury feel for an affordable price.

This review is simple to write...
Parking is FREE. This is awesome.
The hotel was very inviting and the staff exceptional.
The room was spacious and the bathroom lovely; all was very clean.
It's right on a central bus line, a very short distance to downtown. Necessary in getting around.
Price cannot be beat, especially with free parking.
It's not in the heart of downtown, but it's close. It's not a great part of town, but it's not a bad part either. Pretty close to Chinatown, which is cool.
The pros definitely outweigh the cons.

We spent a long weekend here and were happy with the hotel. The rooms were clean and spacious. The hotel was usually quiet, though Saturday night, it got a little noisy (thumping bass). The staff was friendly. The bus stop was close and we had no problems accessing public transportation from the hotel. I loved the large soaker tub, but I wish the shower had more water pressure. As another reviewer noted, it would be nice if they had thicker bath towels. The housekeeping seemed a little odd -- at one point, they took two of our used towels but didn't replaced them. At another point, they loudly cleaned every room around ours, but never cleaned our room. But, all in all, we were happy with the hotel and would definitely stay there again.

I stayed here August 24/25 2012 for the Michael Jackson Fanvention. The room was great. I used the exercise room and the computer room. We had a dance party event in the restaurant, lots of fun. I felt safe and comfortable the entire time.

I stayed at the hotel for three nights during a conference being held at McCormick Place. I did not want to stay at the McCormick Place Hyatt and was unsure where I could stay. I found the hotel by accident, and it turned out to be a wise choice. The hotel is exactly as advertised, it is clean with good sized rooms and near McCormick Place. There are restaurants in the hotel, but 4 blocks north on Cermak Road, 22nd street, there are numerous restaurants and there is shopping not far away on Roosevelt Road, 1200 south, near the campus of the University of Illinois. The walk to McCormick Place is about 7 or 8 blocks, depending on which hall you are in. there is a back entrance to McCormick Place on Indiana, which saves some steps. The hotel rooms have a refrigerator and free WI-Fi. Parking may be tricky since the 2 lots cannot hold enough cars if the hotel is full. The exercise room is big enough for a few people at a time and has sufficient equipment to get a decent work out. The only problem has to do with the rooms on the east side since they are near the elevated train, although I have had much worse rooms in "upscale" hotels. I would not hesitate to stay here agini and recommend the hotel.

Room Tip: Try to stay on the west side of the building, it is quieter.
