“Ask about refund policy”
Reviewed August 16, 2012

We participated in this tour recently and it was o.k. I did have to purchase tire insurance for $3 which I thought was a bit odd.

The training was fine, tour o.k. but what really causes me to give this attraction a score of two is because of what they did to two ladies who paid to go on the tour. These nice ladies, one 65 and the other 70 paid to go on the tour. They were not overweight and looked to be in great health. Basically they let them try out the Segway for a very limited time (not sure how long but it wasn't long compared to everyone else who was being trained).

One of the guys who worked there decided that he did not think they could go out on the Segways and did not want to take the risk of sending them on the tour. but what seemed really unfair was that he would not refund their money. He gave them a certificate to be used at a later date - which really doesn't help them out at all. I saw many older people on the Segway tours so I'm not sure why this one didn't let them ride the Segways.

If you are interested in this tour, be sure you check the refund policy.

“Lakefront Segway(:”
Reviewed August 13, 2012

On Sunday, August 5th, my niece and I scheduled the lakefront evening segway tour at the Millennium Park location. This was also the weekend of Lollapalooza. We had a wonderful time. Vince, our tour guide, helped us navigate around crowds from the Lollapalooza Festival. We segwayed around Soldier Field and the lakefront. The city of Chicago is beautiful to tour at night. Seeing it on a segway was AWESOME!

“Great fun!”
Reviewed August 2, 2012

This was our first time trying a segway and we had a blast! The tour itself was OK. It took a long time to get everyone trained and going, so we were actually on the segway a lot less time than what we expected. It was for safety, which they did stress, so OK overall. Timmy was our tour guide and he was fun and friendly. Once you get the hang of it, which doesn't take long, they are fun & awesome! We took the early morning $45 tour. Be aware that you need to make a reservation and then pay in cash that day for this! We had a great time, but will probably try another tour next time. We saw one by the art museum right on Michigan. We'd like to do that. Nothing wrong with this one, just would like to take another tour route. The office is in a building front - there is no bathroom, so don't drink a lot of coffee before you go! LOL ....there is a pit stop by the museum campus though.

“Best Segway Tour in Chicago!!”
Reviewed July 29, 2012

Got SO lucky by booking with Chicago Segway Tour and not booking with another segway tour company in Chicago. From the beginning ,the guides were helpful, informative and fun, but above all else they stressed safety. They limit the number of people in each group and they kept us all together and safe. Almost everyone is a beginner and there are many different ages of people and levels of skill. They recognize this and accomodate for it by grouping people closer to them and/or giving people kind reminders of what not to do. Tom was our guide and he was fun, lively and informative and who wouldn't love that mustache?! If you are even thinking of booking with a different company let me just tell you that while crossing a busy street Tom waited for each of us to cross safely and told us when to go. We watched another tour guide from a different company take off across the street while half of his group was left to cross at their own risk. Really?!! Do you want your kids left stranded on the other side of the street? In summary, we were pleased beyond belief. Their helmets are not the coolest ones our there, but after the first 5 minutes you forget all about it. Book your tour with Chicago Segway!
