I was travelling alone, but made to feel welcome.

The steak in my sandwhich was actually rare, as asked for. The dessert was amazing and they boxed what I couldn't finish no problem. I can't emphasize enough that the service was amazing.

Generally when I eat vegetarian lasagna at a restaurant it is nothing more than the regular lasagna with the meat left out. At TATP it was so much better than that! The sauce was amazing and had zucchini and carrot pieces along with perfect seasoning. The meat was replaced with a flavorful tempeh so the dish was both flavorful and filling. We ate inside due to some cold weather and the atmosphere was very nice. The front of the restaurant is a bar, you have to go back to the other rooms which are not visible from the bar to enjoy great seating.

We came to eat dinner here during the week, were expecting something like a steakhouse, it's more like a lounge. Don't sit inside, unless you want privacy from the other guest and the staff to hear ever word you say. The appetizers are good, the rest is kinda so-so.

I went with a group of fellow out-of-towners and we sat on the rooftop patio to get a good view. It was scenic but the food was disappointingly overpriced. I went with a salad because of that and was pleasantly surprised at the size and quality of my plate (I got the one with macaroni and avocado mixed in, very filling!) - most of the other options looked like less of a value. Good service, good beer selection too!

What I like about this place is the ingredient twists they put on your typical menu fare, so if you want a burger, well there are around 8 to choose from, each more delicious sounding than the next. Prices are a little higher than average, even for Chicago, but portions are plentiful so this makes up for it. Nice view of millenium park and michigan ave.
