“First family vacation”
Reviewed March 1, 2013

The hotel was far better than we thought it was. The price was excellent for the a downtown hotel. The room was clean, the staff was beyond nice, the room service was great. The location was only blocks away from everywhere that we wanted to go to. Whenever we needed something from housekeeping they came within 5-10 minutes. We will definitely stay here again in the future.

Room Tip: If you need an early check in or a crib just call ahead the day before to confirm everything. Also...

WOW I am so glad to hear about your stay! This is outstanding! What makes it even better was the fact that it was your first family vacation and we had the opportunity to make it memorable. That is great! I will be sharing this review with the team! Can't wait to have you back!
Thank you

My son & I traveled to Chicago to visit some colleges. This hotel was the perfect accomodation for us. We were really just there for sleeping and the rooms were great. Very spacious studio suite with 2 double beds. Free wireless internet and breakfast was included. The server in the breakfast room was very personable and pleasant. The location was perfect to get around the city. We took the train or walked everywhere. The hotel was quiet at night and the room was spotless. Great shower. The pool was small and we did not use it but we did use the hot tub after a long day of walking.

Room Tip: We asked for a high floor and were put on the 23 floor in a corner room. Great city views!

I almost always stay at this property when I travel to Chicago on business. The price is always ultra competitive, the rooms are clean and comfortable. They've brought back the cooked oatmeal at breakfast which makes me happy (the last time I was there they had just installed a giant machine that "dosed" instant oatmeal, it was not nice). I like the location of this property too - lots of restaurants in the River North Area and it's only a short walk from the loop where my company's offices are located. It's also not too far from Michigan Avenue shopping, it really can't be beat.

So, its not the Four Seasons but I wasnt lookin for that; was looking for a place under $130 per diem. I really dont mind Springhill Suites but this one was a bit different as this seems like an All Studio hotel as opposed to others. Room was kind of qwerky BUT wireless worked great and the breakfast was OK, may better than most, for these type of hotels. The check-in staff was very nice and helped with dinner (across the street, Rock-It Grill, see my review also). I dont know why I cant give it five stars though, nothing wrong but was not expecting the Studio vibe.

The room was great, but the free breakfast was lackluster. There were hotplates for food that had nothing in them and when they were refilled, it was just scrambled eggs and sausage. It would have been nice if there were a few more healthy offerings.

My daughter's dance studio planned a weekend for us in Chicago. This hotel was perfect for our group and I would stay there again. Positives were the size of the guestrooms, cleanliness, attentiveness of the staff, selection of items at the complimentary breakfast and overall location. Negatives were cost of valet parking ($54 per night-almost half the room price), not enough places to sit for breakfast during peak hours, rooms on the west side of the hotel were subjected to the throbbing bass of the nightclub below late at night and there was an incident one afternoon where a rat had somehow found his way to the ground floor lobby and staff seemed like they weren't sure how to effectively handle catching or containing him. Both the nightclub situation and the rat episode were funny to me and my party, however someone not as amused by "the big city" might have had a fit.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the east side of the building if you are concerned about noise from the adjacent n...

The room was very clean and had a nice view of downtown Chicago. There was a compact refrigerator and microwave. Sofa & desk area were pleasant and comfortable. Pool & exercise room were clean. There were many placed within walking distance. Parking is expensive: $40/day.
The staff here is lovely. All of the many we encountered were friendly & eager to help us with our needs. We had the free breakfast, used the gym, and had to send a fax, which the front desk happily did for us gratis. We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Higher rooms have a better view of the city.
