“For young and old alike - love this museum!”
Reviewed November 9, 2012

Plan a whole day - so much to see for all different interest and age levels.
For parents, you may feel rushed to see it all by your small kids fixated on the dinosaurs or animals - I had fun going as a parent bc my 3 year old had so much fun. If going with children, plan ahead and manage your own expectations - you won't get to see it all if you are with young kids.
I've been before with out kids and could stay all day. I really enjoyed the Native American exhibit - so well done and thorough.
The exhibits are so diverse and well done that even a non museum lover would find at least something interesting and engaging.
This place blows The Shedd away - no comparison.
Cafe up front has good sandwiches for lunch and there is a McDonald's in the basement.
One of the city bus routes will drop you off right in front or take a taxi.
If I'm ever back in Chicago, I'd go again.

“Fantastic place to see!”
Reviewed November 8, 2012

The exibits are larger then life. Expect to take a few hours to see everythign because it is huge. I definitely reccomend it. This was actually the museum where the movie "NIght at the Museum" was filmed. The T-Rex skeleton is there and everything.

“Wow! What a museum!”
Reviewed November 6, 2012

This place is HUGE! Plan to go early and spend the entire day here! We got there right as it opened and spent too much time in the special exhibits (the Maharaja one was stupid...but the extreme mammals one was pretty cool and we spent a lot of time in that!) We wandered until we ran out of time! Lots of very neat, well laid out exhibits. The place is like a labyrinth though...lots to see and the set up is crazy! The King Tut mummies 3D show was cool. The Underground exhibit was kind of stupid; I wouldn't waste your money on that part. The mummies exhibit was neat though! Plan on spending a day here! Lots to see and do! Worth the trip though!

“Great way to spend the day”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

half a day will get you through the museum. I particularly liked the Genghis Khan exhibit. Food in the museum is overpriced - but that is to be expected. There is also a 3d show you can catch. Much better than NYC's MONH.
