Science and Industry seems to do a better job of making science come to life. I think the Field Museum should try to do the same. Granted, they have a couple of very famous exhibits, but much of the museum seems like pretty standard fare akin to what the average smaller city natural history museum would offer.

Well worth the price. Make sure you have a few hours to see all three floors. Bring a lot of space on your camera as I took over 75 pictures.

My family visited during our Chicago vacation. My kids (6 and 8) were getting tired but even they enjoyed the many different exhibits that were here. If you have a young dinosaur fan you need to take them to the Field Museum. We also really enjoyed the exhibits of animals set up in their natural habitat. The kids enjoyed doing the searches each exhibit included.

One suggestion, if travelling with kids as we did, go early. There is simply too much to see and the kids will get tired. It is better to go early so they are fresh (we learned this the hard way).
I would also recommend planning your visit so that you hit the areas you are most interested in. This might mean you will bounce around the building a bit but you can be sure you will see the things that are most important to you.
