“Wonderful and diverse”
Reviewed November 22, 2011

Despite visiting Chicago multiple times, I had never been to the Field and was not sure what to expect.
We were blown away. There were SO many things to see. I would plan to spend the day there. Despite it being the weekend, it was not busy (or maybe it just appeared that way as the exhibits are separated).
It is not necessarily for young children unless they have an interest in the specific exhibits. There are not a ton of hands on or sensory stimulating things for young ages. However, for adults, this (for me) tops the other museums in Chicago. The things you see at the Field are things you would not see at most other museums in other cities.
I would recommend getting a map and making a plan to explore the museum, as we just walked around randomly and I think we missed some things.

“A must for Museum lovers”

A great place to be, I specially like the Dino skelotons well preserved and also the Whale section, wherein the actual rib of the whale is kept. It just gives an actual feel of the huge animal.

“Great Family destination”
Reviewed November 21, 2011

... good for the kids to learn... great institution. Needs a refresh and a little love.

Be sure to check the CityPass.. we would have saved some money if we had. We had already done the John Hancock tower observatory.. spent too much by NOT checking out the pass.

“A museum in a museum”
Reviewed November 20, 2011

I didn.t like it all. It was not interactive at all, the exhibits were oldfashioned and old. It really was musuem about how museums were 50 to 100 years ago
