This is such an amazing place to visit. No two trips will be the same. There is tons to do for kids and adults. I've been there for family vacations as well as vendor dinners. I can honestly say it will never get old. I look forward to bringing my 3 year old there soon!

I enjoyed our tiime at Shedd's. the Pilot whales were so very friendly and photogenic. It seemed like they are ham's for having their photos taken. I had to wonder HOW raptor's (hawks) fit into the dolphin and pilot whale show though. The dolphinsm and raptors didn't appear to be trained yet and the training is still going on. While it's nice to see HOW they train them, but the show could have been so much better. the rest of the aquarium was nice though.

We decided last minute to visit the Shedd Aquarim due the weather. It was a rainy & cool day so we couldn't do much outside. we were so pleasantly surprised by the large amount of fish, ocean life and marine life that was on display. true, it was crowded with children tour groups but if you go a little later in the day it's fine. it was an amazing experience, even if you're not a wild life fan. there is everything from fish to whales. give yourself a few hours to take everything in. there are also presentations and chats done all day at various times. don't miss them they are fantastic and imformative. I didn't know this until we left but it's the world's largest aqaurium. open 9 am to 5 pm-7 days a week. don't miss it. you won't be disappointed! bring the whole family. about $17 for an adult ticket. be careful, it also has a huge gift shop. we couldn't resist the souveniors.
have fun!

Overall the customer service was horrible. When we asked questions, the answers were condescending. When we asked for a map, the employee pointed to a clipboard on a floor that contained a stack of maps. While they were trying to work on a process for crowd control, it was very unorganized, rude and uninformative.
Not worth a visit unless you've never been to an aquarium. If you have, you've already seen what they have to offer unless you want to see a busy aquarium with rude people. Spend your time seeing other wonderful sites in Chicago.

We spent an afternoon at the Shedd Aquarium with four adults and four pre-teens. Parking was easy in the Soldier Field garage. The Amazon rising exhibit was rich with underwater life and easy to read displays. We could have spent hours in just that one exhibit ! Throughout the museum we found friendly staff who answered our questions. Best of all was watching the multicolored and various fish and shark in the living reef with which we began and ended our visit. Most disappointing was not being able to reach the starfish in the touch tank. (A step around the tank would easily fix that.) We applied our entry fee towards a family membership at the end of the day.We enjoyed the delightful and unusual children's park / playground on the way back to our car.
