Okay, I'm biased because I grew up here. But if something great can become even better, the Art Institute has achieved it with the new Modern Wing. If you live in town buy a membership and come every week and limit yourself to two rooms a visit so you can absorb the greatness. If you are a visitor...well, peruse the website and see what floats your boat. The modern wing offers the multiple benefits of Pollack, de Kooning, Warhol and a view. Just go. You will not regret a minute.

Went on a Saturday and was surprised at how uncrowded it was! Loved this museum! Many classics and interesting paintings in a bright, pleasant environment. A must!

The only thing wrong with my trip to the museum was that we should have booked a second day, so many amazing works of art to see. I would also not recommend bringing a 9 year old. The staff were very nice as well.
I would recommend an audio tour as well, you will get much more out of the exhibits.

This was my first time being here in a few years but it was just as elegant as I remembered. It’s very peaceful and quiet throughout all of the exhibits. I really enjoyed the tiny rooms and the photography. Try buying a bundled ticket with the sky deck!
