“Amazing view, get there early!”
Reviewed February 4, 2013

So - what used to be the sears tower is now some weirdly named tower.

But - the view is still the same and they have added glass floors. You need to visit this place at once time on your visit(s) to chicago. The price is steep if you have a large family, but a couple can get in there for under $40.

The view is just so amazing and well worth the wait - if you get there early and there is no line. I wouldn't wait 45 minutes for this, but that's just me.

You can see every single direction of chiagoland from here - and some of it is amazing!

“Be patient long lines but the view at night is worth the wait.”
Reviewed February 4, 2013 via mobile

I hadn't been to the sky deck since I was 9 yrs old & then it was called the Sears tower & there was no cool sky deck window you can stand in. I would go either in the day to see the lake & the amazing architecture. If you want a cool picture at night you'll get amazing snap shots of thousands of Chicago's bright lights. Souvenirs are expensive. The elevator ride is fast & very informative since there's a tv monitor that gives list of info on the tower. There is a wait to buy tickets sometimes its wrapped around the block. Then there's a wait to get on elevator then you get to the top look around take pics. When you're done you have to wait again to get on elevator to come down. Either that or walk down the stairs. That can take 30 mins I heard. It's a must if you come to Chicago. Just remember be nice & patient.

“great views - looooong lines”
Reviewed February 4, 2013

Yes, the views are great but the logistics of getting up into the tower is simply horrific. Waiting 4 x as long as we actually spent up in the tower. I am also pretty sure that these towers without the huge antennas are not the tallest buildings in the western hemisphere. Very deceitful.
Anyway, if they could make the waiting time more efficient like the Berlin Radio Tower then it would be more worthwhile going. As is the lines even on a slow day are just too painful.

“Broken Elevators - so they sent us up on the Freight Elevator!”
Reviewed February 3, 2013

The logistics of getting to the top were ridiculous. It was a frosty Chicago day and still it took forever to get up and down the tower. The staff were a bunch of kids who were more concerned with goofing around than providing world class service. No clue of how to manage crowds.

We had to go up 3 or 4 elevators to get to the top. There's no way this makes any sense. I felt crowded and unsafe in the very, very dated and worn elevators.

View from the top was very cool - but nothing like the CN Tower in Toronto. It took about 15 min to look out the windows and take pictures - and we stretched out our experience. Then it was back to lines to wait for 4 elevators down. I wouldn't have done this if it wasn't part of my CityPass package. Wishing I went to Hancock instead.

“Beautiful Site”
Reviewed February 2, 2013

If you find yourself in downtown Chicago, head over to the Sears err I mean Willis Tower.
The wait cant be a bit of a bummer, more so in the winter months. It's worth it though. To see Chicago from way up high, its simply amazing.
