This is pretty much what you would expect, a trip up a tall building. There are a few attempts to make it an experience by adding displays and videos in the lobby area but they remain fairly simplistic.
The main purpose for the visit is the view - so you MUST go on the best day you can. When the visibility is good you can seemingly see forever. Chicago is laid out before you and it is a wonderful sight. This is better than the empire state building view and a challenge for the Top of the Rock in NYC.
The absolute gem is the glass balconies - 103 floors up, standing on a Plexiglas floor! You can get your own photos, or get a semi-pro shot taken at the far balcony - this will be waiting for you at the bottom floor when you leave, and although it costs $32, I felt it was worth the money.
