“Tall and good fun”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 30, 2012 via mobile

This is pretty much what you would expect, a trip up a tall building. There are a few attempts to make it an experience by adding displays and videos in the lobby area but they remain fairly simplistic.

The main purpose for the visit is the view - so you MUST go on the best day you can. When the visibility is good you can seemingly see forever. Chicago is laid out before you and it is a wonderful sight. This is better than the empire state building view and a challenge for the Top of the Rock in NYC.

The absolute gem is the glass balconies - 103 floors up, standing on a Plexiglas floor! You can get your own photos, or get a semi-pro shot taken at the far balcony - this will be waiting for you at the bottom floor when you leave, and although it costs $32, I felt it was worth the money.

“Top of the World (or at least Chicago!)”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 30, 2012

We went on a weekday, so no wait for tickets. You watch a nice, informative little video before you go up to the top. We bought the audio tour for a few bucks more: if you’re already familiar with Chicago it’s probably not worth it, but if you’re from out-of-town it’s not a bad investment. Great views on all sides, and we went out on “The Ledge,” which is fun if somewhat anticlimactic. Again, it being a weekday, we didn’t have to wrestle with massive crowds, but my guess is that weekends could be a bit of a hassle.

“Good experience but busy place!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 29, 2012

My husband, daughter and I went to experience the Sky Ledge. We went around 3pm in the afternoon on a Friday and this was a busy place - almost too busy to see some of the views. The security line was really long (didn't expect that) and the ticket line was a bit long too - would advise going earlier in the day. The wait for the Sky Ledge was not too bad though and was quite the experience. Our family really enjoyed it. Worth the effort to check it out.

“Great views, arrive when they open”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 29, 2012

Pre-purchase your tickets online. Arrive when they open and go to the head of the line. We enjoyed 30 great minutes until things got more crowded. Choose your visit carefully as you want to make sure you have good weather to take in the views.

Great and exciting attraction. We had fun but the price is kind of high. But very efficient and speedy process.
