“Dana is spectacular! Great location, five star rooms, and fab service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 19, 2009

We stayed at Dana with 2 little kids (7 and 5 years) in a two-room suite with a Queen bed in one room and a pull-out sofa bed in the other. Both rooms had their own TVs, free WIFI, and there was also a bar area. The beds were comfortable with crisp white sheets and extra large pillows. Our kids esp. enjoyed the shower which was a room in itself with benches, various shower heads, and romantic lighting.

They also gave us coupon vouchers for breakfast and the meal was incredibly fresh, tasty, and yet reasonably priced -- from fresh squeezed juices, steel-cut oats, freshly baked cornbread, and berries.

The location is just a few blocks from the Mag Mile shopping and has tons of restaurants, cafes, and boutiques steps away.

Overall, Dana is a gem in the city of Chicago and I would give it an A+

Fun, modern, new hotel in the midst of Upper Michegan Ave boutiques, shops & restaurants. Large rooms with floor to ceiling windows provide great views of the Chicago skyline.
Bathrooms have large walk-in showers with rainheads.
I was impressed with the staff from bell, to check in, to the friendly concierge staff.
Great value since there was a 25% off sale on rooms & got free breakfast for booking directly.

From the moment we walked in we were amazed at the decor of the hotel. When you walk in there is a restaurant on the first floor then you have to go up the stairs or elevator to get to the lobby. The lobby was nice and the concierge was so friendly and very helpful. We had a corner king on the 9th floor and it was absolutely amazing! I was amazed at the view and the room was so clean. The bathroom was so nice and the shower was to die for with it's waterfall shower head. From the bed you can see the shower because there is glass, but if you want privacy there is a curtain you can pull from the outside. I cannot say one bad thing about the hotel. It exceeded all my expectations. The bed was so comfortable, and I miss it. It was soft and plush and I didn't want to get up in the morning from how comfortable it was. The lounge on the top floor of the hotel was fun. Michigan Ave was about 3 blocks away and that is where we did some shopping, but we also hit up State St and Washington area for other shopping. We only stayed two nights but I wish we stayed longer. All I know is if I go back I am definitely gonna stay at the Dana.

Love love love this hotel. Chic and clean, great showers and the most comfortable beds I've stayed in since the Bellagio in Vegas. Great prices and helpful staff.

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon. We wanted a comfortable luxury hotel that was close to the Mag. Mile. We were able to get a Corner King on the 21st floor. It was a great view.

The pluses
-Amazing bed
-The shower was very lavish
-Hotel staff were very helpful
-Breakfast (free if you make your reservations online) was delicious and very filling
-Location (near Mag Mile with a Whole Foods around the corner for easy snacks)
-MP3 docking station was a nice add on
-The gym was sufficient for a quick workout
-The Spa was helpful and my massage felt wonderful after alot of walking around Chicago and my wife enjoyed her manicure and facial.

Minuses
-The second floor entrance was a slight problem but nothing that you can't handle
-The ceilings were much to look at
-The Spa prices were higher than we were used to but seemed to be inline with downtown Chicago.

So as you can see I don't have alot of negative things to say about Dana. The service was great, the view was wonderful and the amenities were lavish. I would recommend this hotel to young couples or hip familes visiting Chicago for leisure

We booked through travelocity and paid $130 a night including breakfast. The rooms are small and modern. Bed very comfortable. Close to everything. Bar on top floor, restaurant in lobby, both good. Staff very friendly.
