Best pancake house ever. Broad variety of pancakes and sandwiches. Fast service. Delicious food. Nothing fancy about the place but great food and good service - reasonably priced

I've been eating here my entire life and the food has always been the best breakfast in town. I've tried other OPH locations around the country and they never measure up. Then I heard that Food Network surveyed them all and agreed that ours is the best in the chain. The decor is cozy yet open and airy. A recent remodel expanded capacity, brought in more natural light, and upgraded the restrooms. You'll wait a long time for a seat on Saturday or Sunday, but just go in with that expectation and its well worth the wait. The signature baked pancake dishes are fantastic, the egg dishes are traditional, down home fare done better than any homemade I've had, and the pancakes and waffles are above average as well. They have a few tasty sandwiches and salads for lunch, but sadly hardly anyone orders them because the breakfast food is so good. I would give this 5 stars except the prices have just become almost highway robbery. I remember when you could split a huge apple pancake and get two drinks for less than $10. Now the apple pancake is way smaller, and twice as expensive. A side of 2 bacon strips or 3 sausage patties is now almost $5. Ouch.

It's been in Champaign for a long time, but I had never tried it. I recently went with a friend and her dad, who have been going there for years. It's a bustling place, but service was quick and friendly. It's traditional breakfast food - pancakes (of course!), waffles, bacon, sausage, etc. But there are lots & lots of varieties to choose from. I had pecan waffles w/side of bacon and it was delicious. I didn't check menu for healthier choices, but I think you could find them if that's what you're looking for. :)

There is no place else that makes a Dutch Baby! If you havent had it, try it! It is kind of like a crepe, but baked with fluffy browned edges. Squeeze the lemon and sprinkle the powdered sugar on it for a taste sensation! Big drawback is the limited hours.

Definitely the best pancakes in town. You gotta get there early but they are worth the wait even if you don't.
