“Gotta have it!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

If ever in Champaign, il area you must try this pizza! Located on U of I campus area. You can get your stuffed pizza or orginal crust. Party size pizza can feed a family for a very reasonable price. There is a bar available. Lots of seating....order out....delivery... Papa Del's has been here for as long as I can remember.

“Delicious deep dish in Champaign”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 15, 2012

A staple in the CU area, this is THE place to go for deep dish pizza. Love the call ahead availability to order your pizza. Wish the new location at Village at the Crossing had dine-in capabilities, but their accommodation to call the Campustown restaurant was very helpful.

“Price is bad, but would be okay if food tasted good”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 27, 2012

The food is okay. It is like eating at a pizza hut in the middle of nowhere. The waiters take forever. The pizza came out cold and tasted terrible. The bottom of it was crispy black. Do not waste your time

“Can't be beat”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 9, 2012

Their signature is the deep dish Sicilian / Chicago style pizza. They also have a stuffed pizza that is similar but has a crust on top. If you don't like that kind of deep dish pizza then you won't understand the appeal. But if you do, then there's nowhere better. Every UofI alumnus who comes back to town insists on eating Papa Dels. The pizza is expensive, but its so filling that you don't need a lot of it. We often order for the Super Bowl, but to do so you have to book it way in advance. The campus location is traditional, and you can't beat the atmosphere in the front (the backroom is the worst noisy din you'll find outside of a construction site.) But there's a new location on the far West end of town, basically pick up and delivery only, that's far easier, faster, and more courteous service. I would drive 800 miles for this pizza, but luckily I don't have to.

“The BEST Deep-dish Pizza!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 29, 2012

This is, by far, the best deep dish pizza I've ever had. The crust is golden and buttery, the cheese and toppings are ample, and the tomato sauce dollped on top is rich and flavorful. Be prepared to wait, as it take about 40-50 minutes to bake your pizzas, but the delay is definitely worth it. Be careful about over-ordering, unless you want leftovers. Most adults with healthy appetites would eat no more than 2 slices at a time.
