“Really good market/boot sale”
Review of Tir Prince Raceway

If you like markets and want a good scout around you can't go far wrong at Tir Prince in Towyn. Before today I've only visited on a Sat or Sun but from last week they opened Fri and Wed too so we popped along for a look. There was a good selection of both 'new' and boot and so plenty to examine on the stalls. A snack & a drink rounded it all off nicely so if you're at a loose end head over for a root, you're sure to find a bargain!

When we are in north Wales we always go to tir prince, admittedly never been to race nights, but we love the market, you can get anything! And the meat man is a real bargain find! Fresh bread, clothes, stone animals great prices, our 4 year old daughter loves the funfair and at £9 a wristband for 6 hours its a steal, lots of rides for her age group, including some hand peddle boats which were fab, parking is £2 but that is for a full day, there is a cafe but we've never been in so cannot comment on the food aspect of Tir Prince
Well worth a visit!

The Tir Prince Raceway is a racecourse located in the tourist resort of Towyn, about two miles west of Rhyl. They specialise in harness racing, i.e. little men on little carts getting dragged around a track by large horses. It's a very professional operation and races are often televised live (admittedly on S4C which is a Welsh language station that according to official figure noboby watches). The races are however fairly infrequent so they need a few other revenue streams.

The most notable thing is the funfair. Following the demise of the Ocean Beach fairground in Rhyl five years ago this is the best funfair for miles around. There are a decent selection of modern rides and if you stay in Towyn for a holiday this place will no doubt become a regular fixture during your stay. In addition to the fair the raceway hosts regular weekend car boot sales with other events such as Monster Car rallies also cropping up from time to time.

Without Tir Prince Towyn would undoubtedly be a far less exciting tourist resort.
