03/12/08 This hotel runs a great scam.. they run your card, then don't have a room after they say they do and 7 days and 4 phone calls later you still can't get a refund.. good luck. don't stay here.. the place sucks!

I've recently stayed at this motel to visit my brother and the County Fair. The room smelled, the carpet dirty, towels thin and the airconditioner could not be modulated. The outside stairwell was dirty. It did not have a single decorative hedge or bush in the parking lot. The supposedly front garden was full of pebbles. I've booked two nights but only stayed for one. I know I did not checked into the Ritz but in my opinion a cheap motel does not have to be crappy.

A bright, new building with McDonald's and Cracker Barrel restaurants within walking distance. Near the Interstate, but access road complicated enough to discourage car thieves. A nice pool, whirlpool and sauna. Great breakfast every morning included fruit, hard-boiled eggs, cook-your-own waffles, etc. Internet access worked well, as did cable TV. Pillow-top bed was comfortable. Staff was great! All 3 nights were trouble-free.

We needed a room while passing through on a long, hotel-filled road trip. This was absolutely the worst hotel we stayed in on an almost three week long trip. The staff was nice but this place is so grungy the only one brave enough to take a shower put a towel down on the bathroom floor to do so. The room was large (a two room suite) but had not been properly maintained or cared for in so long it was pitiful. More a reflection on the hotel management than the cleaning crew...it's impossible to clean something that's so run down. You could not see through the windows they were so dirty. The door handle was covered with mold inside. The linen was threadbare. The bathrooms had peeling paper and big water stains on the ceiling. We stayed at other Choice hotels along the way that were lovely. We also stayed at older hotels and motels that were immaculate and well-kept. I would advise travellers to avoid this hotel like the plague it is.

Stayed based on AAA listing. Neutral-to-reasonably satisfied with room, breakfast choices, facilities, stay (quiet-- but it was near-empty), rate ($56 for queen), and staff. Unhappy with the attempt to extort another dollar for room safe/safe insurance. Room was recently redecorated, but fit/finish of paper and border wasn't professional grade.
