I stopped in a jungle cabin for 5 nights in Oct. My first impressions weren't great due to the manors of the lady who checked me in. Whilst in the middle of checking me in, she started a conversation with another guest and started yelling commands to the bell boys.
The cabins are nice and well appointed and are positioned well to offer a feeling of being with nature, My only comment would be with the size of the TV which is too small for the room I thought.
I honestly think this hotel could be first class if it wanted to be. The beach is one of the nicest ive seen anywhere in the world but the area wasn't maintained. There was only 6 lounges, 4 of which are chained to the ground and the beach bar should be open longer. To only open late afternoon meant a very long walks for anything.
The last recommendation would be for a free shuttle to Port Douglas. The Hotel was roughly 20km away and the current service would be expensive if you did the journey a few times.More
