Owner description: We are Idaho's #1 outdoor adventure company. We provide scenic whitewater jet boat tours in Hells Canyon, guided fishing & hunting trips, & much more! When you go on a trip with Killgore Adventures, you are traveling with the locals. We are a family owned and operated business and our trips start right in the heart of Hells Canyon right where all the big whitewater begins. Captain Kurt Killgore has been driving jet boats for almost 18 years now, 15 of them commercially with 100% safety rate. Our main trip, the Wild River Tour, is six hours long where you go through the complete wild river section of the Snake River. The trip is 32 miles each way making four key stops and running all the whitewater rapids Hells Canyon has to offer. We go through Granite Creek and Wild Sheep Creek Rapids which are class 4/5 and numerous class 3 rapids along the tour which are exciting for everybody. Check out our video to learn more about the historical stops we make along the way, the lunches we provide our guests, the engines on our boats, and many other common questions our customers ask. We hope you will consider booking one of these exciting trips with us! #killgoreadventures

The jet boat tour was absolutely amazing and definitely the highlight of our trip. We experienced some pretty great rapids the day we went and the guide was friendly and knowledgeable - it's unfortunate that other reviews didn't have a similar experience.

We stayed at their 6-unit motel for 2 nights and found it to be clean, quiet and comfortable. I would also recommend paying the small fee for transportation from the motel/office to the launch sight for the jet boat tour - it's a rather confusing and precarious road that we were happy to have navigated by someone who knew where they were going.

The scenery along the Snake River was gorgeous - go! - you won't be disappointed!

The folks at Kilgore Tours earned every penny of their fee. The Captain, Kurt, navigated the Snake River exceptionally well when you consider the River's water level was clearly below average for August. The Lunch they provided was complete and done with care. All of us had a chance to take as many photos as we wished and included a brief rest stop at the Kirkwood Ranch, the Dam (and the Ranger Station) where we ate Lunch and a Beach area for those who wished to take a brief swim. Heading downstream the rapids were a wonderful experience. If we wished to change seats to get wet from plowing through the rapids, we could do so. I chose to get completely soaked and along with other passengers, enjoyed it and will definitely take another Kilgore Snake River Tour.

We hired Kilgore Adventures for a jetback for a large group of rafters. We expected to load all our own gear, which we did. We were aware that the boat was on a schedule and did not expect a tour of the canyon. We did however, expect basic greetings and some shared knowledge when asked about specific landmarks (creeks, cabins), but he two crew members just didn't seem to care about anything. The windows were filthy with watermarks and dirt, though the crew found time to clean the windows AFTER our jetback in preparation for the next group.
Considering the significant cost and disappointing service, I would recommend using another company for jetbacks and Hells Canyon tours.

My son and I drove up from Boise to White Bird, Idaho to take Killgore's river trip to the Hell's Canyon Dam. We stayed 2 nights at their comfortable, clean motel in Whitebird where the accommodations were secure, nicely decorated, and located on the beautiful grounds near White Bird Creek. The jet boat tour did not disappoint!! After first driving by car through the beautiful Snake River mountains, we arrived at the dock to embark on a great day of touring this part of the Snake River. The guides were pleasant and informative, the lunch was delicious, and the fellow guests made for a wonderful experience. Lots of history and sites to be seen, on and off the river. Well worth the time and money! So well worth it that we hope to return to take another tour down the opposite direction someday. This company takes good care of you.

My sons and I did a Snake River jet boat tour with KillGore Adventures in August of 2012. I would highly recommend that others do not do this tour. It is not worth the high cost of the tour. It really isn't any more than a boat trip up and then down the river between their dock and Hell's Canyon dam. There is nothing adventuresome about this tour. They make it sound like it is a big adventure similar and even better to white water rafting and it is not. You might get wet, especially on the way back, but that is only because the guide hits the rapids right. There is no adrenaline rush or anything else. The guides didn't seem to know anything. They weren't able to answer questions and they didn't seem to care. They made no effort to do anything out of the ordinary to earn tips. Your stops at so called museums are a joke as well. Nothing more than pit stops. The first museum had some farm implements laying around. Supposedly it was a museum, but the door was locked at the cabin. The guides had no idea what kind of tree was on the grounds. Guides need to be able to answer basic questions. Anyway, avoid this and do something more reasonably priced!
