We recently stayed at La Casa Cottage Resort - this was a perfect vacation for our whole family. We enjoyed it so much we extended our stay. So much to see & do together - the cottage was lovely & we thoroughly enjoyed all the activities available to us - from kayaking, swimming, mini-golfing, tennis, movies, basketball, kids camp, ping-pong and so much more. We enjoyed an ice-cream every night too! The staff were friendly, helpful & receptive to all our questions - thanks so much! We will return!!!

This community Strata has a suburban "engineered" feel to it. The houses (and these are new houses, not really cottages) are all new with quite a few up for sale and vacant lots still available for development. It is a "gated community" with access being through coded security gates off Westside Road. It is built as a series of switchback roads on the side of a steep hill which makes for a community of golf cart and ATV drivers loaded with kids and beach gear traversing up and down the steep roads all day long. We rented a golf cart for 2 days and made good use of it, but we also trudged up and down the hills to get to the beach. There is a dog friendly beach, but no flat areas where dogs can run off-leash or chase balls. The unit we stayed in was impeccable and very comfortable and clean with a beautiful view of the lake. On the whole our whole family and friends enjoyed staying here. It feels more like a neighborhood subdivision than a resort and everyone is friendly with the strata staff keeping the grounds very clean.

Room Tip: Choose a unit closer to the beach as the roads and trails are very steep to walk up and down, or do like everyone else and rent a golf cart.

Drive from kelowna is a little scary. Lots of twists and turns and no safety barriers so drive very carefully. This place is built on the side of a very steep hill which is probably why the long horned sheep like the terrortory!

Unless you are very close to the lake walking is not practical with young kids. You can hire a golf cart but at $400 a week it's pretty outrageous. The roads around the cottages are one way but so many drivers of cars and golf carts simply ignore the signs so be very careful when driving or if you let your kids cycle on the limited flat stretches.

Sea kayaks can be used but the system is crazy. You have to sign out the paddles in the reception at the top of the resort and return them in 3 hours. Nobody does so it means most kayaks sit idle all day. They need to either double the number of paddles available or just leave them beside the boats. I never saw more than 5 kayaks used at any one time with 20 sitting idle because there weren't enough paddles.

The onsite store is very basic so do load up before visiting as its a 40 minute drive to the nearest food store.

The views are amazing but be warned there are many undeveloped lots that will obstruct views if new cottages are built. The beach is rocky so bring water shoes. The aqua park is great fun but if this place develops all the lots the beach will get overcrowded. It can just about cope now so if the 50+ lots get developed then it will get unpleasant as there appears nowhere to expand the beach front.

Overall many pluses but we are unlikely to return because of the location but the remoteness may appeal to others

Had a fantastic time at La Casa. Rental management was great, and the with the store being there it made everything easy. Great pools, and lots of fun activities to do.
Will definitely come back many more times!

We have been coming to LaCasa for the past three summers and everytime it has exceeded our expectations. The weather is always great, and the cottages are very accomodating. From the 2 pools, 3 hottubs and aqua park there is tons for the kids to do in the water. Our cottage was in great condition, and very clean. It held all of our 6 family members very comfortably! We spent most of our time out on the large deck where we could BBQ dinner with a glass of wine while enjoying the lake views. Beware- the General Store at LaCasa is not a full grocery store. However, they do tell you this when you book and ask that you bring most groceries with you.
We will definitely be returning to LaCasa!
