There isn't a whole lot of action in Victor, Idaho but Jackson, Wyoming is a short drive (other than in winter) over the Teton Pass and this resort offers (almost) everything: Golf, tennis, heated pool, spa and excellent accommodations and service. For more serious outdoor activities, in winter there's skiing in Jackson Hole and Grand Targee.and the rest of the year there are hunting, fishing and hiking, with Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks a few miles beyond Jackson. The attached restaurant (different management, somewhat surprisingly) is a good choice for lunch or dinner -- especially since there's not much else handy. Our major beef was with the mediocre breakfast buffet, included in our package -- not nearly as good as we are used to at Hampton Inns (at less than half the price). Nevertheless, this is a good choice for people with any outdoor interests..

This resort is in a beautiful setting just on the west side of Teton Pass. It is not nearly as well known as its highly advertised neighbor to the east, Jackson Hole. These are the types of places to which we gravitate and from the standpoint of setting and serenity, Teton Springs does not disappoint. With that said, they bill themselves as a high end resort but they simply do not live up to the "high end" moniker. I gave them 4 stars in this review but the reality is that it is currently closer to three and a half. For example, the luxury suites are laid out very well and are beautiful, however, the mirrors in the bathrooms are of inferior quality and distort images making it very difficult to shave, etc.; the thermostat in the room does nothing to control the temperature regardless of the setting; the cleaning crew missed our room twice during our four day stay; the TV provider they have does not offer an on-screen schedule which is very antiquated in this day and age; the little snack shop that offers the complimentary breakfast is cramped and the buffet is located on a very small table with all of the food being so cramped into one small area that there's no convenient spot to even place the hot dish cover when getting your food; the carpet in the lodge hallways is buckling; the main desk and lobby area is small and not very inviting, etc., etc. Now, please don't get me wrong. I would recommend this resort as a good place to stay but my point behind mentioning all of these details is that, if they just made a little more effort on these and other relatively small details, they could in fact be the top notch four to five star resort that they advertise themselves to be and for which they are already charging a five star price.

Room tip: Quieter side is the side opposite the pool.

Let me begin by thanking you for your thoughtful review of Teton Springs Lodge. Feedback from our guests is critical as we strive to improve every aspect of the guest experience, and we truly appreciate your time and effort.

And, we couldn’t agree more that our setting in the heart of the Tetons and the serenity of our location are conducive to a relaxing and invigorating getaway for our guests. It is indeed first class and our physical plant should be nothing short of the same.

Some of the improvements you mention are actually areas that are currently under review to improve; TV service and thermostat control in all units. Our housekeeping crew is top notch and despite the high impacts of summer season on this staff, they do an incredible job. However, it appears we missed the mark on taking care of your room during your stay and we apologize for this oversight.

We close the property for several weeks in November and maintenance on carpets and other hotel infrastructure will be evaluated closely and necessary repairs will be conducted. You specifically mention the Storehouse café, and this is another area of hotel operations that is under evaluation. While the Headwaters Grilled provides a terrific dining experience, our guests enjoy the cozy atmosphere and convenience the Storehouse Café affords. But given its size, it does have its limitations on adequately serving our guests during peak periods. Creative solutions are in the works to mitigate this and improve the guest experience.

Again, thank you so much for your review and we certainly look forward to welcoming you back to Teton Springs.

Sincerely,

Jeff Naylor

We booked in for the golf package. They told us golf for 2 people was $190, which seemed fair for their great course, and it helped lower the room price. We checked in for the golf and the pro shop said we had to pay there. They said said they have no affiliation with the lodge. I was charged a higher amount of $200, but on my birthday did not question it. Upon review of my check out bill some time later i found the lodge also billed me the $190!! When I tried to resolve it, the front desk manager only credited me for the lower amount. Better for them and worse for the customer is apparently more important than the customer and the time I spent trying to resolve all this. They double charge me, take my time to resolve it, and I still lose $10. BEWARE. See this as a sign of bad hospitality and greed.

Dear Dave,

Thank you so much for taking the time to bring this billing issue to our attention. And while it's true that the Lodge operates as a separate entity, we strive daily to insure the resort experience is seamless for our guests. We are conducting ongoing staff training to mitigate this sense of the operations being somewhat disjointed, because the reality is; we pride ourselves on working as one team with the Headwaters Golf Club and Restaurant.

Your personal experience represents an opportunity for us to improve our systems in all aspects with our resort partners. It’s everyone’s goal to provide each and every guest a most exceptional experience and we didn’t accomplish that with you, and for this we are all deeply sorry. I can also assure you that this double billing issue was an honest mistake, and not one in any way reflective of our guest service culture.

We look forward to welcoming you back to Teton Springs Lodge & Spa.

Sincerely,
Jeff Naylor

The accommodations are excellent! The rooms are so spacious and nice and comfortable. We had a 2 bedrooms unite for our family and we felt so spoiled. The cafe has delicious food, and the restaurant was great too. The spa has excellent treatments. We really enjoyed our reflexology appointments. I highly recommend this property!

Recently stayed here for a long weekend while fishing the Snake River. What an awesome place. Cannot wait to go back next year. Was there with a charity group, Casting 4 A Cure. They did a great job hosting the event as well as all 90+ anglers.

Dear Jay,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review on Trip Advisor. It's always a pleasure to hear that our guests enjoyed their time at Teton Springs Lodge & Spa. And yes, I couldn't agree more that Casting 4 A Cure does an amazing job with this event. This was our 8th year hosting this special weekend, which provides much needed fund raising support for Rett Syndrome research. We certainly look forward to seeing you at the event next year!

Sincerely,
