“BEST IN THE SPRING, BUT GREAT VIEWS”
Review of Shoshone Falls

We were there in late September, so the falls were at their lowest. In the Spring they must be outstanding and the views from the park would be outstanding.

We really enjoyed seeing these falls. Its worth the fee to go into the park to get closer to them or you can just stop at the overlook above them for free. In hindsight I wish I had packed a picnic for the great park area and left time in the agenda to do some hiking. We appreciate western art so seeing these in person was a real treat.

I guess we got lucky and the falls were flowing full force because they were beautiful. There is a nice little park that is included in the admission charge (very cheap, only $3 per car). The view down the river canyon is stunning and the area has a nice country feel to it.

There isn't much else to do in Twin Falls, but what do you expect out here? We stopped by the Visitor Center and they asked us if the falls were flowing because sometimes they are turned off for irrigation (We were there in May). We assured them they were running and the volunteers seemed relieved. When we asked if there is anything else we should see in the area they said if we saw the falls, that's pretty much it. They did recommend driving out to the Shoshone Indian Ice Cave and Craters of the Moon, which were already in our plans.

Twin Falls is a nice, small town with lots of restaurants and shopping (like Target) if you need to stock up while you are on the road.

Not too much to do but it's pretty. If your around this area you either gamble or go to the south hills. Sun Valley is a bunch of stuck up rich people that live in a pretty crappy town too. Like I said just drink....You'll have more fun Cheers :-)
