Access to the Sawtooth National Forest is an easy 20 minute drive from Ketchum. The ride alone is worth doing for some of the finest scenery in the US. The SNRA (Sawtooth National Recreation Area) starts just outside of Ketchum with the Smokie Mountains to the West and the spectacularly beautiful Boulder Mountains to the East and continues over Galena Summit (have to stop at the pull-out for a fabulous view over the River of No Return Wilderness Area and into the Sawtooth Range. Unlimited hiking and mountain biking, great fishing, and overall spectacular scenery. Have to stop for a milkshake at the Smiley Creek Lodge.

The Stanley Basin, Redfish Lake, & Sawtooth Campground are our favorite places to camp. The campgrounds are well maintained and there is a free dump station just behind the Sawtooth National Headquarters.

Hiking in the Sawtooth Mts. is a gift that keeps on giving. WIthin just a few miles of our home and the surrounding community you can find some of the most beautiful and challenging hiking anywhere. Don't forget your camera! Stop by the conveniently located Range Station to pick up a map.
