We visited Montgras a while back for their seasonal grape stomping and loved every minute! Our guide, Cristian was so nice & patient with us and our 2 year old son. Our 2 year old loved to eat the warm grapes from the vine. Was all in all such a great experience!

We visited this winery on a day tour from Santiago by Chile Tours. It was the last day of our first trip south of the equator. Enjoyed the wine and the staff. Wished we had bought more of embroidered aprons. They make wonderful gifts and remind us of the great time we had in Chile. We look for, found and purchased their wines several times here in South Dakota and in Denver. Beautiful facility!

We visited MontGras winery twice during our time in Santa Cruz. The first was a short tasting visit with Ian Garrett's wine tours (Can't miss! http://english-tour-guide-colchagua.com/) and the second for the wine blending experience (which we booked through our hotel). The winery is a beautiful building and facility, located just a bit outside of town. The courtyard would be perfectly suited to an outdoor cafe, however I don't know if they would get enough traffic to support it!

Gonzalo was a great tour guide and very knowledgeable about the winemaking industry in Chile and the varietals of grapes they produce. He speaks terrific English and had some great jokes to go with the tour. We spent time in the vineyard tasting different types of grapes off the vines to understand the flavor and he also taught us how to recognize different grapes based on size and leaf shapes.

We then went inside for a custom blending experience using MontGras' wines. My wife and I were the only ones on tour, but this might be less enjoyable with a large crowd. After drinking (a lot) of wine and tasting our blends, we bottled and labeled them, making a great keepsake to take home and drink later.

Make sure you visit MontGras!

My Dad, mother and I stopped in at MontGras Winery and were lucky enough to score a tasting with a fantastic guide named Cristian. Cristian was very educated about the wine and winery and seemed to enjoy sharing his knowledge with us in clear English. It was a beautiful, comfortable estate and we tasted outdoors on the patio with cheese pairings. You must take the time to stop at MontGras when you are in the Colchalqua Valley and ask for Cristian.
