The location of this Best Western can't be beat - it's right on the water and one block from the local pub, restaurants, and a few shops. The attached restaurant was the best part of my stay - it's not very often that I find a hotel restaurant with great dinner fare; I was extremely pleased with the menu and the service. Prime rib and seafood were tasty - as was the local fare of pork cassoulette with huckleberries. The rooms have full balconies with views of the lake and they are mostly updated. Would have rated five stars if I didn't have the wall heater from the 80's and the shower and furniture were newer (but they weren't old, either - just not updated). Oh, and one more thing - trains do come through several times at night - if you have the 80's style heater you won't hear them, if you have a thermostat, suggest you leave your TV on all night.

This place is all about location! It is lovely to be on the waterfront but not really worth the extra money. The hallway is on the outside of the building and all glassed in.........was so hot we could hardly stand the trips up the stairs to deliver our belongings. The room was clean and modern and there was a deck overlooking the water. The restaurant has wonderful food. Service was rather slow but then again, they were pretty busy. Took a walk to go for a swim in the lake but the bird droppings were a big turnoff on the sand and even on the grass and people were taking their dogs out to do their business in the grass out front of the lower rooms!!! So keep your shoes on!

Hotel is located on the waterfront adjacent to the city park. The hotel is 1970's vintage with comfortable rooms all have a view of the lake. They have been refurbished but the major limitation is that the bathrooms are tiny. I have had larger bathrooms aboard cruise ships. I was told by management that the ground floor rooms situated between the the dining area and the indoor pool have the largest bathrooms.

The restaurant had a average meals at average price and was quite adequate and convenient after a 6 hour drive. Breakfast was not included in the price and was standard Best Western fare, nothing special but tasty and filling.

The major problem as others have mentioned, is that the hotel is adjacent to the railway mainline and the trains run throughout the night.

In summary, it was an OK overnight stay, but we would have been off driving the extra 45 minutes and spending the night in Coeur d' Alene.

Room Tip: Ask for ground floor rooms situated between reception and the indoor pool as they have the largest bathrooms.

We arrived late with no reservation, but got a very nice room, clean, although no screen on the patio door so could not leave door open for fresh air. The train tracks are right beside the hotel and there were several trains that night, but we just put on the A/C and it drowned out the noise.

Room Tip: Second floor probably better.
