“Stop here for pie”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 2, 2014

We had their special, which was soup, half sandwich and pie. It's a great way to do it, so you make sure you still have room for pie. Service was very attentive. Pie was really good. The pecan pie was not as sickeningly sweet as most pecan pies are - they've cut back on the sugar, so it's just the right degree of sweetness. The strawberry-rhubarb pie was great, no effort to sweeten it so you actually get the rhubarb flavor - exactly what I wanted.
Be prepared to wait - this is a popular place.

“Great value for a family dinner!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 27, 2014

We stopped here for supper after a family day at Silverwood. What great value and excellent food! We all, including myself, my husband, and our two teenagers, found great possibilities on the menu and it was difficult to choose! The food came out quickly, and was all fresh, well prepared, and flavourful. We enjoyed our dinner, but we really appreciated the low total on the menu….and we wished we'd had enough room for pie! A must stop place for anyone going through Sandpoint!

“Great local place.”

This is a great place for breakfast or lunch. Their specials are a good value. You must have either the hot cornbread or a slice of one of their wonderful pies.

“Wonderful pie!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 23, 2014

We went in search of homemade pie and we found it! But before we had dessert, we enjoyed a sandwich on artisan bread and the best chicken noodle soup I've eaten. We followed our server's advice and had a slice of chocolate/coconut that tasted like a Mounds candy bar and a slice of cherry crumb pie. Delish!

“Sandpoint overnighter”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 17, 2014 credit card Amex Card Member Review

I have been to Panhandler Pies before, but have to admit, I was a little disappointed in our breakfast. It was just average and I guess I was expecting more. The eggs and bacon were good. The hash browns were, in fact, American fries, and a little dry and unevenly cooked. The real disappointment was the coffee - watery and flavorless. First thing in the morning, I'd like to be able to enjoy a great cup of coffee and it didn't happen. The staff was very nice and pleasant.
