It is a great place for walking. Information signs are along the paths. Very often you will see deer eating. The Lemhi River is close by. It is a very peaceful place. There is a dog park for your dogs also. Very well maintained and taken care of. Beautiful views.

“Sacajawea Interpretive Center”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 22, 2013

This is a must- see experience when you visit Salmon. The interpretive center educated us about Sacajawea, Lewis and Clark Expedition, and the Native American tribes that once lived in the area. The introductory video was very well done and the exhibits were very interesting. The grounds include two trails and three community gardens. The center is open only from Memorial Day till Labor Day and is staffed by knowledgeable volunteer docents. As a non-profit organization there is a $5 (cash only) charge, but it's definitely worth the money.

“Splendid exhibition”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 13, 2013

The Interpretive Center is a wonderful combination of history and great natural beauty. The statue of Sacajawea and her baby is stunning, as are the other sculptures on the grounds. The interpretive trail took longer than we'd thought, but worth every step. The video provided upon arrival at the center is informative and helpful if viewed 1st . There's a huge sculpture of Seaman the dog who was also on this great adventure. Well presented, not much signage.
