“just another rave review!!!”

Stayed here one night on a trip down to Boise. The hotels in the area didn't look very appealing as we drove by, so I called the Lodge. No regrets other than I wish we could have stayed longer. We watched the sun rise over the mountains from our bed..... The room had a good mattress, comfortable space and spectacular views. The lodge great room had a warming fire and the hosts were very gracious. This would make a great honeymoon spot!

I doubt that Syringa needs another rave review but they're getting it. Hosts were friendly, helpful and welcoming, the breakfast was homemade and delicious, the site was spectacular and there was a panoramic walking trail around the property with views of the Bitterroot mountains and the Salmon River. A Great place to stay and very reasonably priced.

Room Tip: All rooms are quiet. The location is somewhat out of the town of Salmon

Fished on the Salmon river with Silver Cloud expeditions. The Syringa lodge is a great place to stay. Great big comfy bed. Nice shower. Clean room. Free WiFi. Great breakfast from 7am. I loved the cottage cheese pancakes, orange juice, fresh fruit and scrambled eggs breakfast. Dave and Paula were very kind. Great value.

Room Tip: I was in the Indian Paint room, big bed and a picture of John Wayne on the wall. Fantastic. Big deck...

Stayed here for one night on a driving holiday. We had booked the Indian Paintbrush room but, on arrival, were offered any of the rooms which were available. We ended up choosing Syringa Room after much hesitation. Both room were more than acceptable, just differences in decor really.
The lodge itself is extremely impressive, made from enormous logs (there is a brief history of the creation of the lodge on the wall just inside the front door). The downstairs is mainly given over to an open plan "great room" style area along with the kitchen. Although it is open there are plenty of separate areas to get comfortable in without feeling you are necessarily on top of other guests. The lodge also has extensive external balconies which add to the feeling of spaciousness. As the lodge is located on top of a bluff outside town there are good views from outside and from bedroom windows.
The hosts are very pleasant and obviously want guests to have a good experience. Breakfast was hot, plentiful, tasty, good quality and served by our friendly host - what more could you want. Unfortunately, neither of us are big eaters at breakfast so we didn't do it justice but it certainly made a good start to the morning.
The room itself was a good size with clean, attractive furniture and linen. The ensuite bathroom was smallish but perfectly acceptable (and spotlessly clean). The bed was large and comfortable (firm). We had an excellent night's sleep. Although the a/c fan was a little bit noisy it was fully adjustable from within the room. It didn't stop me sleeping, I was just aware of it when I woke up during the night. The exposed wood throughout made for a warm, welcoming environment.
Overall, staying at Syringa was a very good experience. The hosts are quite unassuming (but very pleasant) which is a bonus for guests who dread "in your face" hosts.
The final point is that Syringa is stunning value. In our 24 day journey (staying in 17 different places) this was the least expensive but was definitely at the top end of the B&B experience. Part of this may be to do with the fact that Salmon isn't exactly the tourist capital of the US but if you are in this neighbourhood you will need to go a long way to beat it.
In conclusion, I thoroughly recommend it.

I was a little nervous driving through Salmon getting to lodge, but once we arrived it was spectacular! The lodge is beautifully decorated and we loved our room (the indian paintbrush). Dave had menus of area restaurants for us to look at before heading to dinner. Breakfast was wonderful. We had regular and pecan waffles, fruit, yogurt, bacon, eggs, etc. It was a great stay and the price can't be beat!

Perfect in every respect. If you're looking for a place to stay in Salmon this is it. Inviting comfortable decor, great breakfast, quiet, wonderful views, and extremely clean and neat. Owners Dave and Paula just could not be nicer. If I were to pay another visit to Salmon Idaho I wouldn't stay anywhere but the Syringa Lodge. Its almost as good as being at home. Try it you'll see!

Room Tip: We were real happy with the view looking towards the town of Salmon.

We were due to stay for 1 night in August 2012. Booking confirmed by the owner in February 2012. On arrival were told that we didn't have a booking. On brandishing a copy of their confirmation email we we were told that our booking had been made before they had experienced "computer problems". Didn't receive much of an apology, left feeling very uncomfortable, and having to find somewhere else to stay.
Can't believe that they didn't have a back up booking system.
Resulted in us having to drive an additional 120 miles to Missoula that evening where we struggled to find a room as they were full of firefighters.
Spent 23 nights touring the USA and all other pre-booked rooms were no problem
