My family (self, DH & DS) and an old friend visited the Heise Hot Springs recently. It was the first time for us, but our friend had been there many times. We had such a great day enjoying the various pools, both thermal and conventional, the 350' waterslide, and enjoying the beautiful grounds and shade trees on the banks of the Snake River. Come late lunch/early dinnertime, we were definitely hungry, and we looked no further than the Heise Pizza Parlor. They offer a wide variety of fresh toppings and crusts. It all sounded so good, we had trouble making up our minds which ones we wanted. We ended up with 2 large pizzas, both with different toppings on each half, and the staff didn't complain in the least about it. You order your pizza at a central counter, then they bring it to your table. Our pizzas arrived piping hot and delicious, and tasted even moreso with a frosty mug of beer (they have several varieties on tap).
The building is an old-style log cabin with both indoor and patio seating. They have a small video arcade downstairs. Apparently they have live entertainment a couple of weekends a month, but we were there on a Monday so didn't catch that. Oh well - next time. Hopefully there will be one.
