The ol'man and I were enjoying a morning out on the deck looking over to the back of Templin's and noticed that, today being September 11, their flag was not bowing to our brothers and sisters taken so mercilessly by hate. Hoping that the distress creeping through was due to a thoughtless accident -I called the front desk and spoke with Theresa. I asked who was in charge of the American Flag out front and she gave me a name. Even at the start of me saying that the flag was not half-mast, I could feel the compassion in her voice. She explained to me that the man in charge was off for the weekend and she would call someone to fix that.
Appreciate it Theresa, thanks!

We stayed at the Red Lion Templins July 16th to July 19th, the first thing I noticed was that they put us in a disabled room. There was no bathtub only a large shower with a very outdated hand held device. I seriously doubt that even a disabled person would have liked this bathroom. The shower curtain was inadequete, when we tried to shower, a ton of water went all over the floor and we had to clean it up. The shower head only sprayed water from around the rim, nothing came out of the middle, You had to move it to the side to rinse off, and there was no place to hook the nozzle so you can stand under it. Also the a/c did not work, but it was fixed right away after I called. Very high prices, minimal cable selection, small old fashioned TV and the room was way too small for the price, $462.00 for 3 nights! We will find another place to stay next time, we just came over to visit our daughter who is a university student in the area.

We stayed here when we went to visit Silverwood Theme Park. It's about 30 minutes from the park because of all the traffic lights on hwy 95. We were upgraded to a king suite on arrival because they were sold out. Our room faced the river and the room itself was fairly small but had a huge bathroom with a jetted tub. The beds are too soft but the room was clean and it was very cool at night being right by the river. We didn't even use the AC at night as it cooled down nicely. They have a breakfast there but we opted to go a couple of breakfast place about 10 min away which were fine. It's showing it's age somewhat but was the perfect place for a two night stay as we visited the theme park. The room had a fridge and a microwave and we ended up with a stay three nights get one free deal which was a great saving. Tons of parking and good access to the hwy.

It's sad to see a hotel that was once a nice place decline into mediocrity. While the Red Lion has a wonderful location right on the Spokane River, with nice views from the restaurant and some rooms, that's where the positives end for this hotel. From surly front desk staff at check in, to outdated and worn rooms, no amenities in the room (e.g.,shampoo), and the same curt front desk staff at check out, it's hard for us to come up with a reason why you should stay here. If you could get a bargain basement rate, you may not be disappointed. But, if you pay anything close to what you would consider a premium rate, you will be sorry that you stayed here. If you'd like to experience the view, while staying someplace a bit nicer, stop by this place in the afternoon for a drink out on the deck, but then leave to go back to a nicer room at another hotel.

We stayed two nights at the Red Lion Templin's in Post Falls. This is one of the nicer Red Lion's we have stayed at. The room's were very nice and clean. They appeared recently remodeled/updated with the decor and furnishings. The only thing that was stuck in circa 1980 was the alarm clock. One negative to our room was there was no microwave or mini-fridge which would have been nice to have. However, they do supply the room with 2 $2.00/each bottles of water. However, the tap water sufficed for us! We also ate at the the hotel's restaurant , Mallards, on night 1. The prices were a bit high and the husband enjoyed his bbq burger for $13 with fries. However, I ordered the Prime Rib Frech Dip for $14.00 with salad and a side of fries and was terribly disappointed with the lack of flavor of my dish which was more like cafeteria food. The dining area does overlook the Spokane River and the hotel's marina which does provide a nice atmosphere and does help distract you from the horrendous decor inside the restaurant. The husband, who isn't necessarily home decor savvy suggested it made him feel like he was eating at the Old Country Buffet. However, our overall experience with the hotel, room, and staff was delightful and we would definately stay there again. We also stayed for 2 nights for $86.00 total as we had a coupon for $39.99/night.

Good value - we paid $89/night for two nights through Expedia. The room we had was nicely updated with a fridge and microwave. We had a bottom floor, corner room with a door directly out to the river. The entire hotel was clean and the service was friendly. We had breakfast at the restaurant one morning and the view is quite nice. We enjoyed dinner at "The White House" restaurant just up the road.
