Beautiful views from the restaurant and lounge, room clean well presented and beds comfy. Staff friendly, courteous and helpful, we saved money by booking through hotwire. Saturday night we stayed was a very good band, evening menu between 6-10 dollars and happy hour for drinks. Peaceful on the beach watching geese fly over. Had to pay 7.95 pp extra for breakfast but all you can eat buffet kept everyone happy. Waiting staff extremely helpful and very happy to accept vouchers, Breakfast included cereal, yoghurt, toast/pastries, scrambled egg, potatoes, sausage, bacon, tea/coffee, fruit. Would definitely visit again, even if it was full price based on the experience we had. Air conditioning unit noisy but can turn it off if don't mind the heat!

Room Tip: Booking through hotwire doesn't allow you to choose your room. Some rooms have views of the lak...

Friends who had experienced lunch here previously and had a wedding reception for their daughter here, wanted to take us to this Templin's Mallard Restaurant in the Post Falls Red Lion. On a sunny day take your pick of eating out on the pleasant deck under an umbrella or inside the more formal restaurant. We chose inside and enjoyed the 180 degree view of the marina at a wide, calm section of the Spokane River with evergreen-covered mountains as a backdrop. Surpisingly, only a handful of people were here for lunch in this large two-level attractive restaurant where each table has a great view.

The menu could be called quite classic. The items we chose were a tasty grilled lean meat Reuben, a wonderfully encrusted Monte Cristo that I was told was delicious, a chicken avocado sandwich and I had a satisfying turkey wrap. Each was nicely presented and pleasing to our taste. We all enjoyed our fresh mixed green side salads, too. Our server was pleasant and kept the strawberry lemonades coming.

Overall our experience was positive in atmosphere, view, service and food. What would have added to our experience would have been more people enjoying lunch like we were in this large dining room. This Templin Red Lion seems out of the way and almost of a bygone era though it has a good setting on the river. I hope to see it filled with people attending, say, a conference or special celebration. Try it and see what you think.

We booked our room thru expedia and because of that we were treated subpar. The only good thing I can say about this place is the beds were comfy, other than that I will never stay at a place that treats their guests as poorly as we were.

Dear kimmerb1165,

We value each and every one of our guests and want to assure you that our guests are not treated differently depending on the way that they book their reservation. I am so sorry to hear that you were not treated appropriately while visiting our hotel; that is definitely not typical of our properties.

You are a valued guest and we hope you provide us with the opportunity to serve you again in the future.

Best regards

The hotel was booked thru hotwire.com, the price was awesome ($72) per night. I wouldn't say it was a three star property though - more like a two star place. The room itself had a beautiful view of the marina and the lake. The floor was squeaky and the pillows were small square cushions. The AC worked all the time but really didn't cool down the room much. But for what we paid we couldn't complain!! Had lots of fun at silverwood!!

Room Tip: Third floor room have the best view of the lake

Ok, we stayed on both sides of the hotel. The room without a view was well worn and had an old tube TV. The bed and pillows were wonderful ! Nice and soft , just as we like. Able to get a good nights sleep, which is the most important part, right? The last night we stayed in a view room. You have to get one on the first floor as you have plenty of room and a huge lawn. The upper floors have a tiny balcony. The Rooms are upgraded with a flat screen tv and a extra sink above the refrigerator. Both regular and view rooms have a refrigerator and microwave. For the extra money, get the view room on the first floor-really worth it! The hotel also has a computer with internet for the guests, but it is only free for 15 minutes. After that, there is a fee.
We would stay here again, but only on the first floor with a view.Very nice and helpful staff. They can even print you tickets for the Spokane Indians baseball game!

Room Tip: Get the view room on the first floor- well worth it!

We stayed here a couple of weeks ago as a home-base for Silverwood (which is about 25 minutes away). The front desk area is very nice, and has a view of the Spokane River. The walkway down to the rooms is badly in need of replacement carpet and repair and quite dark, and the rooms are not well-lit. However, the bathrooms have been updated and are very nice. The swimming pool area is nice as well. What we liked about this hotel was that it had a marina area, where you could go sit on the beach. Since we got there on a weekend night (Sunday) they told us about their dinner cruise, which is a two-hour trip in a riverboat down the Spokane River. On the boat there is a prime rib buffet. I highly recommend the cruise. We had a blast, even our young children enjoyed it, and the food was great. It was very hot when we left the dock and it was a nice way to cool off. We stayed at the hotel for 3 days and got in on a deal that offered the third night free. They also have a buffet breakfast at Mallard's, which is in the hotel, which was good, and cost $7.95 for adults and kids were free with a paying adult, so we had a good, inexpensive breakfast every morning before hitting the park. All in all, I think next time we go to Silverwood we will stay there again - we definitely plan to be back!

The property is aging a little, but relatively well-kept. The grounds are nice, and the rooms appear to have been renovated in recent years. Hallways and the restaurants are quite dirty, and in need of major carpet cleaning, or a reno. While very close to the I-90 highway, the hotel is on a residential street, has lovely views of the river, and is very quiet and peaceful.

The bed was comfortable, the pillows were not. The air conditioner was noisy, and didn't do a good job of cooling the room, so we were still quite hot. The bathroom was clean, as were the fridge, microwave, and coffee maker.

The staff were very friendly, from front desk, to our server, to housekeeping.

The fitness room looks well-appointed (didn't get a chance to use, but walked by on the way to the pool), and the pool and hot tub were both clean, and a good temperature.

The restaurant is something I would consider missing: the breakfast is not free (as has been the case with other Red Lion hotels I've stayed at), and the dinner menu is basic and 'safe'. The carpeting and fabric on the chairs is grimy, and the service slow (yet incredibly friendly).

We booked through Priceline, so for the price I paid, I was happy with what I got. I wouldn't pay 'full' price, but was not overall disappointed.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the river - approximately 1/2 the rooms will have one. Also, try and book on floo...
