Rosa is great. She makes good food and is very warm and friendly (with a little NY bite) to everyone. Try the lobster ravioli.

“Great food & hospitality - wish this was in our neighborhood”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 1, 2011

If this was Brooklyn, my Italian American hubby's old stomping ground, Rosa's would be the "neighborhood place". What a delightful, delicious little place this is where pride of ownership from owner Tina-Marie abounds! We wish we could pick up the business and bring it to our neighborhood.

Tina-Marie Schultz is of Italian heritage (the business is named for her grandmother) and also from New Jersey where they know good Italian food. (We saw this from experience of having lived there.) She's brought a little bit of Italy to Northern Idaho. We're not only fans of the great food, Tina-Marie's hospitality was so wonderful that by the time we left her restaurant / deli / market we felt like we were friends too! We left with a warm spot in our hearts and tummies for Rosa's.

If you're in the area...GO!

Try the cannoli (homemade filling AND shell). Try the home baked Italian cookies that are like Tina-Marie's nonna (grandmother) might have made. Don't miss the hazelnut, almond, white chocolate biscotti if she has it in the case. She makes great espresso to go with the tasty sweets. It was a lovely way to be introduced to Northern Idaho, to sit in Rosa's on a summer morning and enjoy the sweets and espresso with friends.

Take out some prepared and frozen homemade main course delights like meatballs, manicotti, eggplant parmesan, chicken Marsala or lasagne (to name just a few) to take home and cook for dinner. (If you're visiting friends or family, they'll be happy too!)

Have Tina make you a sandwich (some named after famous Italians or her local friends) from her Italian deli meats and cheeses on homemade sandwich rolls. If you want something you don't see on the menu... she says ask her and she can probably make it. (You can enjoy it there or tuck it in a picnic basket for a visit to one of the local outdoor sites)

Pick up some Italian food items from her market shelves.

If you're around on Friday night and Tina-Marie is still doing her special Friday dinners, see if you can get a reservation for dinner to enjoy a home cooked Italian meal. (Rosa's does catering too.)

Sparkling clean and homey, Italian opera and tunes on the sound system (at least when we visited), Rosa's has seating for about a dozen or better inside and a couple on the front porch in nice weather. Although the restaurant / deli is in a restored 1910 old house, the effort was made to build a ramp up to the door meaning people of all abilities are equally welcome to come inside to eat and shop. Brava! Works for me as I have MS and climbing steps is difficult. The only hitch is the only bathroom is up a flight of stairs. Even the folks in our group who don't have stair climbing issues weren't so fond of that. So just sayin' in advance, know this and plan accordingly before drinking too much espresso!

Rosa's is conveniently located across from the Post Falls city hall and visitors' center buildings and parking on street seems plentiful and convenient.

This is a small town, small business at its best. There is a reason why this year, after only 18 months in business, Rosa's Italian Market & Deli was awarded with the Small Business of the Year award from the local Chamber of Commerce.

Really, if you're in the area...GO! We're still trying to figure out a way to have Rosa's move to our neighborhood.
