I've lived in Pocatello for the last couple decades and this sandwich shop has been cranking out good food at reasonable prices the entire time. Check the daily specials for $3.45, especially their specialty "Pizza Bomb" on Mondays. It takes a half hour of waiting to cook, but it's delicious. They will make it for you ahead of time if you call them.

Goody's should be known for friendly serve, people and good quality food at a fair price. It is not a fancy place to say the least, kind of imagine a well worn Cheers atmosphere. I've go there since it was known as the Hindenburg. Always though and same people always there, the regulars, and the floating in and out of different college students. However, always with an owner who is always concerned employees are treated well, as are the customers. So if you are looking for a fancy place move on, but if you are looking for a good atmosphere and with good food give it a try.

We had a very good pizza and two fairly decent salads, so the food was worthwhile. But the interior of the location was no different than a school cafeteria, which makes sense because this restaurant was located across the street from the university and patroned mostly by students. A fast food restaurant has more style.

Service was slow. The young gal who put our salads together seemed very confused about what to do and had to ask us several times about our order and then reconfirm it with the guy who orignally took it but allegedly wrote it down.

A decent selection of beers (good prices) were served in the rear campus style pool hall. I had the distinct impression that the bartender hadn't served anyone over the age of 25 in a very long time. Both he and the student crowd literally stared at us like we were martians.

The rather lower income neighborhood and corresponding clientele do not help. Bottom line? If you aren't a local student or under the age 30 AND don't want a beer to drink make your order To Go.

An employee told me about how lazy the staff is' the kitchen area is not as clean as food prep ares should be she told me that nobody cleans the walk-in either inside or out. She watched an employee wipe the food area in front (where they make the sandwiches) with a dirty rag and did not even remove the food storage boxes and stuff was falling into the food they make the sandwiches with. I have been there many times and the employees can sometimes be very rude to customers. I will NOT eat there again. There are other places to go where a customer is appreciated and at least appears to be cleaner.

Goodys is right across from Idaho State University, lots of students are grabbing their Pizzas and sandwiches there. Goodys Calzones are quite good, and their Sandwiches beat out the bland offerings of Subway. Service could be faster, but very friendly.
