You'll start the museum with a tour of about an hour from Don Aslett himself, the founder of the gigantic cleaning company Varsity. The museum actually is a collection of all the cleaning items Don gathered in his life and, as he told us, he is putting a lot of his fortune in it.
The museum moved to this new building not too long ago, and Don showed us his plans with all the other floors. The museum now only uses the ground floor and the basement. We were really surprised by all the vacuum cleaners, washing machines, etc. Furthermore Don really explains everything in a funny and amimated way. It seemed like he had to hold back not to tell too much, because every cleaning tool has it's own story. And don't think this is a "look and walk by" only museum. You can touch a lot of items and there are several things to do.
This museum really is one in it's kind and gives you a better view on cleaning and everything there is to it. You'll leave with (even bigger) respect for all the janitors and other cleaning workers. We sincerely hope Don will realize his dream and that this museum becomes a huge succes, bringing a lot of visitors to town.
