Great views of a remarkable lake. Access to the most beautiful part of an outstanding bike trail. Camping and rental cabins. Boating access.

We tend to park at Heyburn in order to ride the Trail of the Cd'A. It saves a six mile climb, though it's not steep, up to Plummer. Parking for the day is $5.

Loved the bike trail-road my 3 wheel electric cart over the bridge-it was so fun! Went with friends! We had a church campout in the park-nice campsites!

the reviews on this park are pretty awesome - I have been there many times over the years. and drive by it often - perhaps you too drive by a wonderful attraction so often that you ignore it as it is so common to you -
I encourage you to at least slow down the next time you just drive by. . .
these are places that ppl travel miles to see. So stop and enjoy these great State parks.
you will find there are gems near you that you so often just drive by.
and yes i recommend this to my friends and visitors.
Why do I go there?
it is a wonderful park with facilities and a little different view than from my living room.
yes i have watched this place grow from a nice park. and it has become greater as they make this a true attraction for the boater and RV enthusiast - yes tent camping and hiking is great too.

What you see in this picture is the massive footbridge that runs from the south end of the park across a narrow section of lakd Coeur d alene. there are 3 nice campgrounds in Heyburn state park and a small museum and interpretive center at the main entrance to the park. at the campground near the main building water sewer and electric hookups are available as well as cabin rentals. Just to the east of that area is a nice marina. Its only 6 miles to Plummer to replenish your supplies and about 12 up to St. Maries which is a bit larger and has more variety of restaurants and even a golf course. There is bountiful wildlife in the area and the park is open year round for snowmobilers in the winter and fishing and boating and camping in the summer.
