It's a beautiful beach. It's very different from places like St. Lucia as there are no locals selling cheap souvenirs. The water is pristine. Walk down towards De Reef to find someone renting beach chairs.

Great beach, very clear waters, not crowded, some good snorkelling on either end of the beach. Also has a couple of reasonably priced bars with food for lunch. We had a great week there!

You simply can't find a better place to kick back and enjoy a few local cold ones. Rent a beach chair sit back and enjoy. It simply doesn't get better than this beach. While in Bequia make sure you try some bitter lemon. It's refreshing and wonderful just like the beach.

I have been sailed to most islands in the Caribbean and this beach is one of the very best. For swimming you can't beat it with the long sandy coastline. Onshore are nice beach bars to pick up a beer and pass the time. The soft sand is great for lounging and the views are a series of scenic paradise! There is also pretty good holding off the beach for a lunchtime anchorage.

Lower Bay and Princess Margaret beaches are very similar. Nice for swim or snorkel. Easy snorkeling at the ends of these beaches, where the rocky headlands jut out. Many small fish, grunts, parrotfish. Not much coral. Lots of urchins.
On foot you can reach an easy snorkeling spot (good with kids) and swim beach very near the Port Elizabeth town center: Walk south on the Belmont walkway along the shoreline to its very end, in front of the abandoned hotel, at the small sandy beach adjacent to the rock headland. Snorkel out along the headland in rocky shallow water (4-6 feet) to see large schools of grunt fish and some others, with a few soft corals. You can snorkel completely around this headland to 'Jacks Bar' at the northern end of Princess Margaret beach.
