“Bedrock Living!”
Reviewed March 12, 2019 for a stay in March 2019

Yes, this Flintstones Bedrock style house is real. Practically open to nature, off the grid, but yet the solar power and hot water systems worked wonderfully. So you *can* have ice in your drinks! And wifi too.

A constant breeze helps keep the house comfortable and there are patios on both sides so you can choose between sun and shade all day long.

Our booking came with a cook (Marva, who was awesome!) so this really feels like your at one with nature yet have all the amenities of modern life.

Highly recommended.

Our stay at Burke House in Bequia really did exceed our expectations. The house really was exceptional, and had everything we could have needed. And it probably is not for everyone. We found it to be perfect for us. We would never have imagined that a place like Moonhole existed and that we would be fortunate enough to stay there. The views were unbelievable, (as others have already stated), from each patio and from each window. This place was even better than the description and the pictures. And those were pretty good. The place was spacious and extremely comfortable. We always felt safe and secure, yet wonderfully secluded. Touring the island of Bequia is not to be missed. Thanks to Lusan for taking care of us and especially Marva, our wonderful cook, who we looked forward to seeing every day. Besides the natural beauty of this unique place, we were grateful to our hosts and of course Rookie(our transporter) for making our stay so outstanding. We also highly recommend Sweet Dreams Charter. Janet and Orlando made our all day sail, such a great, enjoyable adventure, particularly viewing Moonhole from the water. I'll stop now, but know, there were so many wonderful aspects of this trip, that we will absolutely need to come back. Frank,Ellen,John and Sharon

“Imagine living like the Flintstones in a Tropical paradise”

After flying from Barbados to Bequia on a twin prop plane, we landed at the empty Bequia Airport to see goats roaming around and only 2 people working at the customs.

Soon ,we were met by a local who drove us down the beach, literally on the beach and off the side about a mile to the base of a carved out of rock paradise. We were warned that tthe walk up to the house was steep and they carried our luggage all the way up to the top of the hill where we discovered one of the most amazing houses we had ever seen. Carved entirely out of rock, with a couple of bedrooms, outdoor bathrooms, a full kitchen and some of the best 360degree views of the Grenadines. We could see St. vincent, Mustique and a few other small islands . A lot of the furniture was carved out of rock with some whale bones as well.

The house came with the a cook and caretaker although i preferred to cook all meals. the burke house is a gem of an experience unlike any vacation rental I have ever seen. No AC but with a fan it's fine. A few mosquitos at night but with some spray , it's fine.

My only complaint is that if you have gone into town and had a few too many , it's not an easy walk up in the dark..

WE will always remember this house as one of the best times we have had as a family.
