Elkins Resort, family owned and operated for 80 years. A destination and favorite place for my Wife's family for many growing up years. 28 cabins, of all sizes,
We stayed in number 2, which slept 6 comfortably. Surrounded by mountains on this huge lake with full accommodations .
We spent 2 days with ATV's traveling deep into the mountains. Very relaxing, and awesome beaches. The restaurant and bar are superb .

My husband and I have stayed at Elkin's Resort in late August 2015 and August 2016. Our first visit was during the fires and the skies were smokey. We were still impressed with the Resort and returned year later under beautiful sunny skies. The gracious hospitality, spectacular location, sweet log cabins, and star-filled night skies are not to be missed. The restaurant has a delicious menu and the huckleberry daiquiris are pretty good, too! You'll want to stay at least one more day.

Room tip: The lake view cabins are the best

My husband and I just got back from a two day 10 year anniversary getaway at Elkins Resort. This was our first time at Elkins. My first impression driving up to the cabins was they are a little closer together than I would prefer but when we walked in, I Was pleasantly surprised. The cabin felt nice and homey, not dingy. I didn't know what to expect because there are no interior pictures of the cabin we reserved online.

We stayed in cabin #27. It comes with a fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom with a shower, direct tv satellite, a queen bed, sofa and small dining area in the living room, a double bed and dresser in a separate bedroom, a deck with two chairs, picnic table and bbq, a hammock, beach access with wooden chairs and a fire pit.

The website states to bring beach chairs, shampoo, soap and towels in July and August as they are not provided during the summer months but when we arrived, all of these had been provided for us. They even provided wood for the fire pit.

There were a couple down sides. The pillows are hard and uncomfortable which made sleeping difficult. I plan on bringing my own pillows next time. The flyer left on our dining table showed events for a different weekend then our stay so we showed up to the bar to see the band on the wrong day. There was a live band on Friday night but our flyer said Saturday night.

Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay at Elkins minus the uncomfortable pillows and misleading event flyer. We will be back with our kids and dogs.

Thdnk you for your review. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for pointing out the pillows and event sheet. We will make sure to get that correct event sheets in the cabins and do more research before purchasing our next batch of pillows. I look forward to seeing you again.

Our family rented a cabin for a week and we camped nearby. We really enjoyed hanging out in their comfy cabin and sharing the pontoon boat for a day. The setting is lovely, the cabin well appointed and the staff is very friendly. I highly recommend it for a family vacation.

Our cabin was lake front. These cabins are rustic, clean and charming! This is a perfect place to relax with a good book during the off season. We are looking forward to a return visit in the fall. The lake is beautiful! I can not say anything negative about this property except that I do wish that the restaurant was open year around because the food is excellent.

We are happy you had a great stay and look forward to your return. The restaurant is open weekends in the winter, just check when making your reservation as we do close to the public some Saturday nights for weddings.
