After traveling for 13+ hours on our way to Washington state, I jumped on Trip Advisory to find a hotel to check into. I booked through another site however, when we got to the hotel, there was no room available. There was some issue with what the internet was showing as available rooms verses what was really available. The guy at the front desk was super cool, very nice and took care of our reservation. We ended up with a standard room (two standard beds) but at a discounted price for the error. The room was clean, the beds were comfy and fluffy pillows. For $65.00 it was not a bad deal but don't expect anything more than that for a Super 8. We skipped the breakfast the next morning, but they did have a danish type breakfast, coffee and juice. This hotel is right off the freeway so its very convenient if you are traveling.

Room Tip: I don't have any suggestions.

The building seems very old, and smelled of stale cigarette smoke. The walls were so thin that the 3 people who knocked on other doors after midnight were heard clearly and loudly by myself and my son. On a positive note, the updated furnishings were nice, and the beds were comfortable.

I stopped here one a trip to Portland. I had asked for nonsmoking room. The room had a heavy smoke odor. I complained but was told nothing else was available and they had only been changed to nonsmoking in the past month.

My sister and I had been driving for 9 hours. When we arrived it was 10 o'clock at night. So you could imagine we were exhausted. Check in was quick , and we were directed to our room. The room was a nice size. Clean, and the beds were surprisingly comfortable.
I always book hotels, and decided it would be more practical to book a motel rather than a hotel for one night. I am glad I chose Super 8. This motel chain exceeded my expectations.

There is a free breakfast as well, although we opted for Denny's across the street instead.

Thank you Super 8!!

We arrived in Nampa, ID just after dinner local time July 8 - this Super 8 did have some vehicles in parking lot, but lots of rooms still available. We got room 308 (I believe) - a non-smoking room (as requested).

Desk person upon entry was pleasant & efficient.

Arrived after going up stairs to third floor to find room sweltering at 102°F on thermometer (thanks technology!) - A/C unit not on. Turned on, cold air started blowing & we went about trucking up and down the stairs to get suitcases into room (watch out for the top step at the second floor - tripped on it nearly every time - it is higher than all the other steps & missing the 'guard' - presumably from folks tripping over it).

Got everything into the room, used the facility - noticed missing hand towels & wash clothes - only three full size towels & floor mat cloth. Went back down the three flights again asking if we could have at least one washcloth & hand towel. We were granted a whole ONE washcloth & ONE rag resembling a hand towel size. I asked we not be charged for missing linens - will watch our Visa bill closely.

Back up to the room - now supposed A/C unit is blowing possibly ambient air from outside as temperatures were about 90° exterior, but room remained at 98° - decided with how helpful everything became downstairs at the desk after we paid, wouldn't bother - you know the story, complain once, they do something; complain twice, they spit in your burger.

The A/C unit took more than three hours to drop the room temperature down to 88° - it would blow actual cold air for about 10% of the time (being generous). Another hour, we'd finally reached lower temp than ambient exterior temp of 86° - attempted sleep.

Finally found the missing linens - dirty balled up wash cloth was stuffed behind one of the trash cans... another washcloth & hand towel (better than then one we had, but obviously well used with unmentionable contents) stuffed in the drawers of the room (we were looking for the phone book - apparently don't disgust yourself - keep the drawers shut!

As an after thought at checkout, desk clerk asked about our stay.

He was informed it was the worst room we'd ever had - the air conditioner didn't work much at all and I complained about the dirty laundry left in the room.

He informed me they have thirty air conditioner units on order. And that was the whole of the conversation!

Thanks - that does me a LOT of good. Next time you're stopped for speeding, try that excuse: "But officer, I WILL be going the speed limit at some point. It's okay! Have a nice day," and drive off. The good news - prison will likely have a better air conditioner.

I have not used Super 8 previously - you can bet I'll never try it again, either here or elsewhere.

Avoid the whole place unless you're feeling lucky - because with at LEAST thirty rooms without A/C in the Idaho summer, you might be in for a disgusting surprise - well beyond what you might find in your room.
