“Don't Let the Outside Scare you Away if You're on a Budget”
Reviewed September 26, 2011

The budget-priced Lewiston Days Inn is located on a side road behind a truck stop, and across the river from a pulp mill that smells something like the damp cardboard boxes in your grandfather's basement only more intense. If you're still reading, this is the hotel for you. The room was clean, everything important worked, and my room on the river side was very, very quiet. I absolutely did not hear the trucks outside. A bright new yellow shower curtain cheered up the bath and the room and linens were truly smoke-free. The bed and pillows were comfortable for me. While the room was very basic, it was well-kept and a great value. The hotel is located near a boat ramp and greenbelt.

Full Disclosure: I'm sensitive to smells and would sometimes smell the pulp mill even indoors. One nightstand lamp was not functioning and a wall outlet could not hold my computer charger which kept falling out.

Room Tip: The back side has rooms with a view of the river.

We were extremely pleased with our room. Staying on a bit of a budget for our road trip, we were very happy with the price for such a nice place.

Everything was brand new and clean as can be. The 2 queens beds we had did crowd the room a little bit, if you use the desk, but it was workable, and we were so happy with the price, for such a clean place, we didn't care.

Breakfast was really not much, but it was enough to fill our tummies until lunch time, so it was fine. I didn't feel real comfortable with the parking of my car around the back, so I choose to park in the front instead. The location of the hotel was not scenic by any means, as it seemed to be near a truckers area and a plant of some type, but that didn't bother us, as the hotel was very secure, and the people working there were extremly nice. I would stay there again without a doubt.

If you want to save some money and you love clean and new, THIS IS A GREAT PLACE.

This is right on the highway in commercial/industrial afea and many of the long haul truckers stay here. That said we can highly recommend this as a place to spend the night when on the road. The price for Lewiston is very very good. It use to be a Super 8 ,but not only has the name changed, but the rooms have been painted and renovated. The we had two queen size beds which were quite comfortable and also included in the room was a refrigerator and microwave.

We were located on the front of the motel on the lower floor, but it was quiet, we never heard the trucks coming or going or any road noise.

The breakfast was just ok, donuts , toast , english muffins, and two kinds of cereal. The orange juice seemed to be watered down, but there is coffee and hot cocoa. Over all a good choice as all the other chain motels were either at least $30 more a night or a place you would not want to spend the night in.

Room Tip: Request a room with two queen beds and a refrigerator and microwave

This motel is now a Days Inn. It is located north of town, in an industrial area. There is a truck stop right next door, and a lot of truckers stay here. Breakfast starts at 5 as a courtesy to them. We were on a front side but did not hear the trucks. The building is very plain on the outside and the lobby is utilitarian. However, when we opened our room (105), we found it to have been recently refurbished. New carpet, fresh paint, new furniture. The room is small and was very tight as it contained two queen beds, a desk w/chair, and a chest with a TV, microwave and fridge. We had to keep moving the chair around as it blocked traffic if you left it at the desk. Beds had new mattresses, linens were fine. Three pillows per bed. The beds did not have bug encasements. Bathroom had also been fixed up, but they had not yet installed the cove molding around the new tile floor. Room and bathroom were very clean. Breakfast was basic continental including toast, english muffins, muffins, oatmeal, two kinds of cereal, milk, coffee and juice. AC, TV and internet worked fine.

Motel is located near a paper mill, so there was some smell outside, but we did not notice it inside at all. No pool on site.

Because of the size of the room, I don't think I would want to make this motel a base for local touring, but it was an excellent find for just passing through. The rate was very reasonable. Much lower than many of the other chains. Highly recommend it for those needing nothing more than a clean place to sleep.

This Super 8 is more or less middle of the road as Super 8's go but the price is better than most. The room rates are a good $30 to $50 less than the nearest big chain motels.
It also has refrigerators and microwave ovens in the room even though it is not listed in the Super 8 2009 International Directory. And the Wi-Fi works very well.
It is located very conveniently near the highway and only a stones throw from a gas station and mini-mart but no restaurants. The restaurants are only a few miles away and assuming that you have traveled there in a two or four wheeled vehicle of some kind, your next meal is not far away.
You couldn't ask for a better place to stay for the night.
