“Loved our getaway to this hotel and casino”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 15, 2013

My wife and I went on a fast getaway to this hotel and casino. WE LOVED IT! The hotel was very nice. The rooms were over-sized, the bed was comfortable, lots of water pressure. The lady that checked us in was Beatrice. She was a little quiet but very professional and friendly. The bartenders were a couple of the best you will find anywhere. The Manager's name was Douglas. A professional bartender in every sense of the word. He was a lot of fun. His assistant, Kiri, was very very friendly and a lot of fun as well. We enjoyed them both. Also, Kiri was a waitress in the restaurant the next morning. I will ask for her area next time.
The hotel, restaurant, and casino have all been remodeled recently. They did an excellent job with the whole thing. I added some photos to show how well everything looked.

We were treated very bad by the hotel clerk. It
was a holiday the banks were closed.she turned us away.mind you I'm paying cash
she said if you don't have a credit card you cant stay.
I was shocked and will spend my money else where.I have never been so humiliated.
she didn't even try to help me. I would have glady paid a cash deposit.never again!

The hotel hasn't changed, but the renovations to the restaurant & casino are (mostly) finished. The restaurant has now up-graded from a cafeteria / buffet style greasy spoon to one of the best restaurants in the region. The gaming area is now as nice as anything seen at Las Vegas or Atlantic City. Customer service is top-notch.

I've stayed twice now and will always choose this hotel if coming through Lewiston. Rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. Free wifi access, good restaurant on site. But what puts this hotel above the rest is the staff -- incredibly cheery, friendly, helpful, and genuine. Most of the staff I interacted with are Native American and eager to share their culture. The Clearwater area is the homeland of the Nez Perce and I was heartened to see the tribute to Chief Joseph, and look forward to seeing more cultural exhibits as they are developed in the hotel. The desk clerk told me that he feels good working at the casino knowing that he is contributing to the tribe, the care of the elders, and the education of the youth. As a guest, I can feel good about contributing to those things too!

Check-in was efficient, but some renovations in the lobby area (by the elevator) were a little distracting on the way to my top floor room. The room I stayed in was a handicap-accessible room, as it was the last available room for the night. The décor showed its age and focus on budget-minded furnishings, although the room was clean and generally well-kept. The bathroom towels were not fluffy, so another aspect of the hotel that needs updating. The whole experience made me think this hotel was okay, but had room for improvement before it could be on the same level as a Holiday Inn Express, etc. I stayed one night in advance of a business meeting at the conference center, so I did not use the restaurant, casino, or any other amenities. Note: If you are driving to the Hotel after dark, you may wonder if you are on the right track after about five miles on the highway. Just keep going until you see it, and turn left at the first 'intersection' you see with the gas station, just before the casino sign.

i've stayed at the clearwater now a number of times over the course of attending to a very sick brother--there's very little to dislike about it and so much that's enjoyable--i'm not a gambler so can't comment on the casino--but the whole place rings with respectful homage to Chief Joseph and the Nez Perce culture--very tasteful--the restaurant has goo food with a pot roast for seniors just like eating at home--the rooms are big--airy and very clean--but all of this--as nice as it is--is secondary to the friendly helpful and sincere service--the tribe has gone out of its way to make this a pleasant experience and the resulting welcome is very authentic--not over the top sales but heartr to heart -- like family.

On top of this it's in some of the most beautiful country you'll ever see--the Clearwater river is spectacular--fisihing--tubing--just walking and beach combing the quiet places--and there are so many historical points of interest--great experience.

Room Tip: all the rooms appear to be wonderful but i always prefer a room away from the main highway and furth...

Rooms are very nice, large, RV park has been chopped-up 1/3 is now employee parking. The Casino has been expanded and now offers all newer machines, still no tables. Bar is not open and no one appears to be in to big of hurry to get it open. I was here Aug. 3rd and again Sept. 12th and no changes. Restaurant is good, but has changed menu, not for the better. We stay here on the way somewhere, and probably will again.
